Strengths:

CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP, EYES, LIGHT VERY... VERY LIGHT. Deffinetly X-ball worthy.

Regulator, Barrel, and that magnet on the trigger

Review:

I only got to test this, and I'm just awed by it. I thought the Ion was just a poor-mans Version of the Shocker, but how I was wrong, with the right upgrades I think the Ion is better then a Shocker.

The Reg Sucks, horrible consistancey. When I was just testing I was +12/-12 that is horrible. I dont even think Spyders will be that bad. I dont know if it still needed broken in, but man... Its bad...

Accuracy: Ehhh.. its ok, not the greatest but certainly not the worst, I think its major problem with accuracy is the Velocity Spikes the Reg Causes. But I do reccomend upgrading the barrel to an All-American for peak perfromance

Overall performance: Once you get rid of the Damn regulator, the Ion is damn near perfect marker, sweet price, never ever ever chops, extremly fast for a low dollar marker. The Feed-neck, Grips, and Magnet are just personal upgrades. The Feedneck is fine, but I use a Evo II so it tends to be like a skyskraper, and the grips can stay, but they look to plain, upgrade to Dye 03 Stickies or Shocker Grips and you'll be pimping. I also dont like the magnet feel, tends to be really stiff.

I got to test this at a local shop(it was the owners), and me and a couple of other people went behind the shop and Dry fired a couple of shots(its legal in Wyoming to shoot a paintball gun in town) I was extremly impressed. I was a bit skeptical of listening to it Cycle, but it sounds normal I could of just been paranoid. I actually got to be the first person to run paint threw it, and oh my god... it felt extremly smooth, and Not one chop! I own a E-98c and I'm used to chopping at around 10bps(sucks), and I could just let loose, and not even a bad cycle, Also you can change the color of the ion! that is such a HUGE HUGE! advantage over ANY marker, due to when you get new gear and you get rid of your old, you may not still be wearing all yellow, blue, etc... and all it takes is $20 and you can completly change the lookds of the Ion, that is probably one of my favorite things you can do to the Ion.. Also Smart Parts claims it will go 1000 shots per 68/4500 fill. thats full of bull... its more like 800-900. because of the regulator being all over the place, but once you switch regulators to a good one, I think the Ion will be able to go 1000+ on a good 4500 fill.

There is one problem I dont like with the Ion.... the $$$ required to upgrade it :P

But that is at its peak performance.

Conclusion:

If your into any sort of paintball, hate chopping, and dont have a 6 figure income, The Ion is awsome.

I give it a 9, because of the regulator, and the $$$ it takes to upgrade for peak perfromance.
