I was helping a friend at a garage sale their family was having. I saw this and asked how much. I was told "It's all yours."

pfffttt - Still have mine in excellent complete working condition - with all games, cases and some manuals included, in the original sega game gear carrying case, complete with charging cord.
All mint from when I was a kid. |

Allow me to make it clear I had absolutely no clue what Sega was back when I was that young.

Worst battery life for an electronic device ever.

I never had any video games growing up, and I'm almost 20. I was stuck playing with sticks and stones.

So they say. I didn't have a game gear but my cousin did and I used to play it all the time when i went over his house. Haha, I remember I thought it was cool that the screen was in color and backlit unlike the gameboy (not the tiny newer ones, I'm talking about ol' fatty) but the refresh rate sucked so it would ghost hardcore when playing a game like sonic where you would move quickly sometimes. I remember I used to get frustrated because the ghosting would screw me up so then I'd play castlevania or tetris instead. Hehe, good times. And not to hijack the thread but I'm feeling nostalgic; anybody remember Intellivision? ![]() |

I loved my game gear, sonic was BAMF on it. Also, I don't know that being 17 makes you too young to remember them, I'm still about two months away from 20, and I had one, so it's not that much of a time difference.

HEHE cool score i prefered the nintendo stuff but remeber wanting to have colour like those things LOL.
I still have a original gameboy (the black and white brick ones) around here some were lol. Also i have a working NES, Super NES, N64, Cube and Wii. Oh and OLD commedore 64 Computer with TONS of games LOL. Was luck to have all the games as a kid (grandfather spoiled me and my brother) but even though we had em i never could stand to play any for very long. Oh and i had a Inteliveishion too as a kid but it broke. Edited by BearClaw - 18 May 2009 at 4:37pm |

If I remember correctly, the "graphics" were WAY ahead of the gameboy/other systems at the time. Heck, Sega had the SEGA-CD way before the dreamcast or PS1 and the graphics were pretty good for the time.

Well you also may recall that the Dreamcast was almost ahead of its time too. Sega screwed themselves though by not supporting/ pushing the dreamcast in europe, it crippled their sales, and forced them to drop out of the console business. Such a shame. Oh well though, it's quality speaks for itself, there was a new game published for it last year, people still develop for it. Edited by choopie911 - 18 May 2009 at 5:06pm |
