    Posted: 21 June 2007 at 8:53pm

I just bought a new X7 at a pro-shop 30 mins from my house. I got it home and hooked up my HPA tank, and that's when things went wrong. The air sounded like it filled the whole gun. It's a really loud, hollow sounding air leak that seems to originate from the mag well. I took it apart to see but all the O-rings were intact, so I just oiled it and put it back together. I was thinking maybe it was something to do with the tombstone or maybe the powertube. I really don't know a lot about things like this, so I really would appreciate feedback. I haven't even got to fire it yet, and I'm quite anxious to get it up and going.

Ok, so I took the marker apart and oiled it up, and tightened the air lines and it's almost fixed. It leaks for a few seconds, then seals itself, but it sounds like I lose a lot of gas. Is there any suggestions to comlpete stop the leak?

You may also want to check the following. Take the Internal Valve Parts out of the Power Tube and remove the 02-72 Valve O-Ring Large and check to see that the 02-71 Valve Washer is underneath it. If not, this is your problem. I had a leak that is the same as you described, and when I took it completely apart, I found that this piece, the 02-71 Valve Washer, was missing. I simply replaced it with another washer that fit in a similar fashion, and the problem is all but gone.

By the way, I labeled everything the exact same way it's labeled in the manual so that you can use it as a guide in case you don't know that much about the gun. I'm not saying you don't, it's just that we don't know each other and it doesn't seem safe to assume things. Ya know?
