We ll since a few have shown some interest I will make an update. Well that and the fact that I'm running out of kickn' cheddar pringles, which are amazing by the way.

And in another threat kickin said he was wanting to hear a little more in depth.

Alright so we have the 1979 Cobra that had the turbo 4 banger that we are replacing with a built 302. Now for the update. Since I lasted posted pics of the engine block etc. we have gotten a lot done. We have yanked the turbo 4 banger and trans, plan to have the other 302 and T-5 trans from it yanked by the end of tonight. We have a rusted out 87 GT for a donor car. We will pick some parts off the engine that we need and use the trans. We have also dropped off the rear end to have the new gear put in, and dropped off the 91 block we're building to have the cylinders freshened up for the new rings. The piston rings and all new bearings should be in today. We have cleaned up the block, took it to the car wash sprayed it down wire wheeled some and just cleaned them. It should be back from the machine shop by Friday?
Maybe then I'll get some pics.

Mod details: We had planned on aluminum heads and what not but decided to go the cheaper route for now. We got a set of GT-40P heads. We will be doing our own porting and what not to them to increase flow. Get rid of the smog humps and do some gasket matching. We have a MSD ignition box and some other little stuff. We're going carbed on the motor, all mechanical none of the wiring to deal with that comes with EFI. Obviously exhaust will be done, it will be cammed, We're thinking about an F303 cam.
As time goes on we will continue to add parts. I know I'm forgetting some stuff but you get the point. We just want a cool fast street car that might see the strip a few times, but it's for the street. Not the strip.

Now for some pics, I'll add pics as stuff comes in. Maybe later tonight when we pull the other drivetrain.

Turbocharged 4 banger being pulled.

Another

Motor and trans.

Heres the turbo

Open space

Took this one today, no motor trans or gas tank

The 1987 GT as it sits right now.

The 87's motor, just a little more unbolting and it's ready to go.

This is good enough for the moment. Comments/Questions go for it.

We're hoping to have it done by June. Our school is doing the instructor bracket drag race at Milan drag way I think it's April 15. Students are allowed to bring their cars to run if they like and I would love to have the stang done for that but I don't know that will happen. But it will be done for Woodward for sure. My dad really wants to do Woodward.

Roll Tide: You'd really lol at a close up of the drives side window. The dudes daughter who was driving the car put a Felix the cat sticker on the window, it that white thing in the corner. When we went to look at the car I was like is that a Felix the cat in the window ? And my dads like looks that way...

Yup, it's actually been tough coated and is better condition than a lot of Foxes.

On the drivers door at the bottom you can see the peeling. The yellow isn't rust though, that's where some genius thought it would be funny to run over the freshly painted road line.... It's not to bad though. A little on each door and the wheel wells. Nothing to serious.

Take what we need then scrap it. The yard will come pick it up for free and they can have the thing.

Kickin: We're selling the engine. Got it to run on starting fluid. Never really tried on gas, pretty sure it has a sticking valve or something of the likes though.

Well, we're going to start pulling the engine and trans on the 87. After that we might go buy a carb. We're looking at the Holley 4 bbl 670 Street Avenger. I'll try and get pics as we go.

Wouldnt pulling the engine be easier if you took the trans off first?

Nope, it's easier to just unbolt everything, lift the engine a little and pull everything out at once. The uploader is being stupid but I got pics I'll post in a minute.

Alright I got the thing to load finally.

We got the drivetrain pulled out of the 87 tonight. But didn't have enough time to run up and get the carb. We will get that in the next couple of days. A bolt on the bottom of the car was rounded off so we hammered the next smaller size socket on to get it off, so the nut was wedged in the socket. I got a old screwdriver we use for prying/hitting crap that we don't want to use a chisel on. Well I hit the screw driver and hit it good. Managed to pinch my hand in between the screwdriver handle and the socket. Resulting in extreme pain and massive blood blister.

I took this soon after, it's a good bit bigger now. I've never had a blood blister this bad before. It sucks big time. Can't wash hands without pain and odd feeling do to abnormal lump in hand...

Starting the pull.

Getting there.

Almost out.

Here it is on a cart we made to wheel stuff around.

I'll get pics of the other stuff as soon as we get it.

Pop that blood blister dude, it will feel 10x better. Just take a sharp knife, poke a hole over the sink and it will relieve all that pressure and won't even hurt tomorrow. It's only going to get bigger within the next feww hours and hurt more, popping them is def. the best way to go.

I usually don't pop them because they usually aren't above the skin. I was considering a sewing needle and putting a little hole in it. But thats a lot of loose flesh to deal with once the bloods gone
