Here is a post explaining it alittle from my friend Azoth.

Well so much for the WAS keeping quiet regarding the Equalizer board for the Egrip. Something that Tippmann is not very happy about. Well now that the cat is out of the bags...

Straight poop from Tippmann R&D.

Currently the A5/Custom Pro Equalizer board is just ramping up for production. All the boards that Tippmann currently has are prototype boards. The Tippmann factory team has been testing the boards out and love them. The new WAS boards fix many of the quality and software issues that the original boards have. Tippmann is NOT expecting production boards from WAS until the middle of April and will begin testing the production boards. After testing, the boards will be installed in all new production Tippmann A5/EGrip and the Tippmann Custom Pro-E. Aftermarket EGrips for both markers will also contain the WAS board. The WAS installed versions of these products are not expected to hit the market until the middle of MAY!! Current inventory levels need to be sold off and testing needs to be performed. Tippmann is working out the logistics of offering discounted upgrades for current EGrip owners. You will most probably have to send your EGrip in to Tippmann for the upgraded board.

As for the "limitations" of the cyclone... It is on the list of projects to design a cyclone feed that is able to feed at 20+bps to better match the speed of the Equalizer board. There is nothing currently being designed/built. As many know the cyclone can feed upto about 17-18 bps reliably so you may ask "Why install a board that can do only 17-18bps? The current Egrip can do 15." Well the answer is... The current EGrip can not truely do 15bps. That is the theoretical max but generally only does about 13 or so with NEW batteries. The WAS board will EASILY max out the cyclone and will most probably be turned down to match the cyclone feed rate.

I know this won't answer all the questions and may even prompt more questions, but felt that it would be worthwhile it to fill in blanks.

- Azoth

The board will be available direct from Wicked Air Sports also for $99 on April 10th

Basically i got it to check it out. I have the one with the liner in it. I like it, it holds a few more balls and is quiet with the liner.

I now have Epoxy on the Powertude and Reciever side to make it perfectly smooth and not have a FVA. But i just got this and am going to use it instead.

GOLD P/T Special NO F.V.A.
(
No Front Velocity Adjuster)
Only for A-5 Markers
Not intended for new users. For users with custom marker setups. The GOLD P/T Special NO FVA. Constructed like #75155, but gold anodized. It DOES NOT HAVE a front velocity adjuster. If your marker is setup with the front velocity adjuster (F.V.A.) full open, this product is for you.
THIS ITEM SHOULD NOT BE USED WITHOUT A VELOCITY CONTROLLING DEVICE INSTALLED ON THE MARKER, SUCH AS JCS #66148. Therefore, JCS does not recommend this item for new players. Instead, buy item 75155, which has velocity control.

I have personally spoke with Tippman techs and they said most E-Grips only get an average of 13 bps. They also said that sometimes with a really good battery you may get 14 to 15 but not for long. Have you goldweaved yours to check the bps ?
