Very nice. There's just something about the carry handle that looks.....off. Just a little bit, but its there. Very well done all the same.

I use the 68 cal shells to launch nerfs out of the M203, depending on the scenario event, it is considered a LAW or a mortar.
As for the carry handle, its off real steel from a colt M4, I traded a set of the same handguards that are on my marker for it to a friend who mounted the handguards to his real steel M4, so nice tradeoff...lol |

Looks really sharp man! Nice to see an M203, especially someone who actually uses it!
I look forward to constructive criticism on my posts, heck, it is how I have made most of my corrections...I have just a few small suggestions, if they are not welcome, my apologies, it is a nice looking marker either way.. ![]() ![]() I ran into the same thing with my magazine, until someone commented that it "looked long for some reason". After that, I noticed it did. Upon a visit to bushmaster.com it dawned on me..the mag well only covers a portion of the mag...another portion goes into the lower receiver of the weapon, the reason paintball mags look "long" if not cut down a bit...give it a try, the difference will be amazing.
My only suggestion is to move it slightly forward (see pictures). It will still look small because of the relative length of the X7 receivers, something that can't be helped. For more reference regarding the magazine (and just all around cool...be sure to turn on "glass" at the bottom of the screen) http://bushmaster.com/anatomy_bushmaster.asp This might be a pretty cool aesthetic if not possibly functional (I plan to get one for my Alpha, and see how well it works 'aiming' the nerfs...) addition! http://rap4.com/paintball/os/leaf-style-m203-front-sight-p-2 778.html Edited by dustin85 - 15 June 2008 at 3:14am |

With how the magazine is, and not wanting to re-cut the locking notch, Its long because of where the locking notch lines up with the mag release. The magazine is not a paintball one, rather a real M16 30rd from a friend returning from the sandbox, so she has alittle history ;) As for the carry handle, well, any further forward, then the red dot interferes with the hopper, thus i would need to add a hopper offset which would reduce its low profile more then I like, but I have had it forward before the red dot was in place. I accept feedback well. believe me, I have looked into those exact things in the past, but seeing how its my X7, and as close as I can make it to represent a real steel piece. I'm satisfied.
Yes, Evil Elvis....they do....lol Semper Fi |

also if you notice on real steel, the mag release is alot further up on the magwell, the difference in its position is about the same as how far the mag is...."off"

Yep, I realize it is a real mag, I use the same one, just meant 'when used on paintball markers'. I didn't realize you were actually using the X7 mag release: in that case, cutting down the mag would require a bit more work, and you are correct about the offset hopper with the red dot. I run a tac-cap, so hadn't run into that problem yet, good call. Like I said, none of those things were big deals, it is still one of the best looking X7 M-4 sims I have seen.

Just noticed that...I don't know how the corp does things, but we track ours...I would be wary of that...just a heads up...Perhaps get one off del-ton.com or a gun store or something to use in the marker? |

meh, the Marine is out now, and with all the extras picked up while there ( 03 ) it wasnt about tracking...lol he turned in what he had originally signed for...thats all they cared about. Even 14 yrs ago when I was in, there were times I had extra magazines, deuce gear, I still have an old school Flack Jacket in storage from then. Back then, if I went missing something, it wasnt much to have a friend in supply hook you up with what you needed for an inspection or turn in etc.
besides, its not illegal to own one, you can get real issued used mags all over the place, both online and in surpluss stores. |
