really nice job with this thing. I personally don't like the ammo clip you have on it but, hey, still nice.

well or no.[note:my brother is right handed] Also another question, is
compressed air and n2 the same thing?[very confused about that two]

The Red Dot site on the hybrid is a WalMart special. I have a Tasco
ProPoint on another A-5 (that everyone really blasted!!!) and it works like
a champ! The dot is VERY bright and perfectly visible in broad daylignt.
The WalMart brand, while it works, is not nearly as bright...go for the
Tasco if you can. It costs a little more but works better. As for CO2 vs N2,
cant answer that one. I've heard that N2 shoots flatter and more
consistantly but since I use CO2 I can't honestly answer that. Can anyone
else answer this?

Your brother made a good choice! A-5's RULE! Out of the box, one of the
best markers available, if not THE best! That's not to diss on any other
marker so don't get upset!!!! You have to take cost into account!!!!

Nice gun, but it looks to me like to much white to me. Camo should be darker. Still a good gun though.8.5/10 I would remove the dual trigger to complete the milsim look or get the JCS adjustable dual trigger if I were you. I have the JCS trigger, my trigger pull is 5oz on the top part and 3oz on the bottom, with about a millimeter of travel.

Compressed air and n2 is the exact same. call it HPA or air not n2 or nitro.  It is much better then CO2.

i doubt the dot is perfectly visible, my friend has one, and i've used it during the day. i dont care if the sites were different brand, they all work the same way, and they are not that easy to see.i can't personally back this up, but i would have to say that out of the box, an angel, timmy, impy, or any other high end gun are probably just a touch better than an a-5

For my 16th birthday, my parents tried to surprise me with a car. Luckily I was able to jump out of the way.

On out of box, factor in the price range. I've been using my a5 for a while now, and I don't think I could have gotten a better gun for the rec ball stuff...

And the dot is indeed clearly visible in broad daylight. I know the scope, and it shines like a beacon. The brand WILL make a difference, since they're not the same on the inside...Aka Knockoff.

Someone had mentioned a boomstick as an option to the flatline, and I wanted to put my 2 cents in on that. I've shot both on a A5 at a fence that was around 200 feet away (approximately, because we paced it off to see how far it was. Basically one side of my back yard to another...) and with the velocity set to around 290 fps, the flatline was grouping at about 10 to 14 inches. Usually tighter, and all at a straight line from where we were shooting from (about 5 ft off the ground), with the exception of a few wild ones that went over the fence. I heard no shouts of alarm from the nieghbors, so hopefully we didn't pop anyone...

The Dye Boomstick (16" I think) wouldn't even hit the fence, hitting the ground about 10 feet out and rolling up and bouncing off it. And I'm talking about shooting in a straight line, not trying to lob the paint in an arch. I'm sure some folks out there have had different results, but after an afternoon of test shooting, the guy that owns the boomstick put it back in the box, screwed his flatline back on and hasn't looked back since.

We get shots of that distance quite often in our games, sometimes further out. I had a shot a weekend ago that caught a guy right in the mask lense from at least 300ft. Luck? Definately. He didn't even see where the shot came from. Could any other barrel have made that shot? Not that I've seen.

Just my opinion though.

Frostwolf is right, very little beats the flatline for the
A-5. As far as range is concerned it's almost
frightening how far the thing shoots!!! I amazes me.

You see, Frostwolf and I play on the same MilSim
team, The Sidewinders and the majority of us use
the flatlines...pretty effectively I might add.

Frostwolf - how many games have we lost?

As for camo paint jobs...some like, some dislike.

I'd say out of almost the past 6 weekends straight, averaging 3 to 5 games a day, probably 4 or 5. Some due to stupid mistakes on our part, some due to just getting shot.
