    Posted: 10 January 2011 at 8:22pm
Well I finally received my power tube from Tippman in the mail and replaced the old power tube with the new one that allows for the banjo fitting.  I hooked up my response trigger as well as my cyclone feeder (using the adaptor kit of course) anyways I fired it a few times last night to tune the trigger and check to see everything was working (IT WAS Smile)  This afternoon though I wanted to actually see the effects by seeing the paintballs how they curved or if it changed my accuracy that much with the response (did slightly which I assumed it would with CO2)  BUT I noticed a major concern with the feed system O_O.

The elbow which connects to the gun and the housing for the clycone (area between the elbow and hopper) seemed like it was separating.  I could see in between the elbow and the housing for the cyclone and could see the paintballs being loaded into the chamber of the marker.  After a closer look there is some give and there is definitely an opening, gap, or a loose fit?!?!?!  Anyways is there a way to tighten this up or reseal it or should this not be the case and I should call Tippman and just get a replacement (Got it on christmas)

My Theory is that the cold temperature and the firing of CO2 perhaps separated the glue that was holding it there but I didnt, or wouldnt, think that Tippman would make a product that was held together by something like glue (being made to be a durable, typically, woods-rec-ball gun.)

Anyways any help would greatly appreciated.

Here is a pic if my description is too poor.  Its that middle area between the housing and the elbow where it seems to be disconnected.  I thought maybe the screw at the bottom might fix the issue if i tighten it but I dont want to do anything until I determine if it should be sent back or not.  Thus the gap is at the top and not at the bottom so it seems like tightening the lower bolt would have lil to no effect.

EDIT:

Thought it may be helpful to mention I have the 98 Custom (not pro plat or anything else just 98 custom)

Not sure how large the gap is, but the peice that you are talking about only attaches via the bolt on the bottom. There is nothing glued on the top part of that piece. When I look at the one I have sitting here, there is a very tiny gap, maybe 1/16 or 1/32. If yours is much larger than that, perhaps there was an issue with the molding process and you got a bad one. If this is the case, contact Tippmann customer service.

If you are unsure if the gap is acceptable, post an actual pic of the parts that you have.
