But still its only 500 shots.  I wouldnt want to change a battery every 500 shots. I can go through that in one game if the game is long enough.

This is just first generation, and one of the rpess releases stated they were working on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen Evolt technology. I could see this carving a strong niche in the MilSim market if it's successful. The lack of an air tank is nice, and the design readily allows for some 'bullpup' style designs. Plus we don't generally have to worry about only getting 500 rounds before we're screwed. Besides, battery technology is constantly improving, and they'll no doubt bring in a way for easy battery cahnges on the field if necessary. I'm sure these guys are smart enough to be aware of the concerns surrounding their product. Innovation isn't static- inventors of a product like this are always thinking of ways to improve it.

Look at the first paintball guns - you wouldn't have liked those either.  Give it time- this is a promising technology.

Precisely, Clark. I think it's got a good future. A smaller package would be nice, but that's mostly battery technology holding them back. A Beretta CX4 Storm carbine would be an awesome MilSim you could do with this...

has potential i think...but 500 shots is a bit low and if the batteries are really expensive that would be a problem...too many variables. We'll see how people like them I guess.

Cool. that marker looks ugly as hell, but I certanly wouldn't mind playing around with no-airtank marker. You'd defenitly need a couple batteries handy though.
Ref: I want a nice clean game

500 shots is plenty for anything non-speedball. When you arne't shooting ropes of paint in a speedball match, you find ammo lasts a long time.

the guliness is mostly based on the size, and like all technology that will decrease in time.
