I am currently thinking about opening a new paintball field in my area, and would love some advice. I am thinking of leasing a warehouse with about 4000 sf of playing area, with about a 1000 sf pro shop. The field would be more scenario than speedball with rooms and hallways and sandbag bunkers. I am also thinking of using tippmanns 98 rentals for my rental guns, i was thinking 20 or so. i would love to hear some new ideas and some pros and cons i might not have thought of. There is only 1 other field in this area and its not that good and the owner is a jerk. Anyways thanks for reading this, I hope you guys can help.

with the economy the way it is i would hold off... paintball is a luxury, when times get tough people cut spending on things like this. you would be better off investing your monies in foreclosed homes or opening a bar...

I actually talked to a woman today who works at a liquor distrbution center. She said since the economy is the way it is alcohol sales have gone crazy. She said they are selling about 40% more than normal on a day to day basis, which is outrageous. People really are drinking away the stress

I did a business plan on opening a field for my AP Econ class. It seemed like 3-5 years to make up initial expenses. Things like air compressors, turf, and the larger stuff take a while to make up for. Then rent for the warehouse and insurance. |

I'd say you'd want more guns. Depending on the limit of players being able to play at one time, I'd take that number and add like 10 more guns for back ups.
