I got my 12 year old son a tippmann 98 custom pro for Christmas and I cannot get it to fire. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Read manual and couldn't find answer. I did not hear the air supply engage when I screwed in the tank. Basically it has no pressure. I adjusted the velocity but there is just no pressure. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

Did you have the tank/bottle filled before giving it to him?
No kits come with a full tank or bottle. PB stores will tell you that, Wal-mart will not.

When you cock it and fire, does it make any pop sound at all?
Tippmann fires all markers before they are packaged, so it sounds like
a tank issue.

I'm not sure how familiar you or your son is at paintball or markers.
Maybe check with the place you bought it is best.
Great present by the way.

Is it operating everytime you pull the trigger (making a loud popping sound)? Have you checked to make sure it is loading the painballs into the receiver? I would drop a single paintball into the hopper, cock the marker (make sure the ball enters the receiver) and shoot the marker. If the paintball doesn't leave the marker that you are not getting air into the marker.
You indicated that it has no pressure? Even with low pressure if it is operating every time you pull the trigger it would seem that it would shoot the paintballs but just weakly.
Maybe if you can describe exactly what you are doing and seeing it might help someone solve your problem.
