use a dremel tool and mothers mag polish. I know you have an a5 but look here, http://www.model98.net/mod3.html there's an article in the mods section that'll tell you how to do it.

fixed the link, a dremel tool is a rotary tool that you can get polishin bits for. Just borrow one from somebody or you could use steel wool.

I think with steel wool you don't need polish, i'm no sure though. It takes a long time with steel wool. I've heard of people messing up their markers from taking too much metal off.

use only 0000 grade steel wool or 000 grade. anything stronger and you could take off a lil too much. just lightly rub it and get the paint residue off, not a hard scrubbing, just use a little elbow grease. once all the paints off, rub the inside down with rubbing alcohol to clean it well, wipe it dry, then apply the mother mag. once again use elbow grease, though this time it dont matter how hard you rub. make it nice and shiny, put on a few coats and youre all set. make sure to clean off all excess polish or youl gum up your internals. honestly, you would have to use a very coarse steel wool or sandpaper and use it on the inside for a while to do serious damge. just use the 0000 and 000 grade wool and youll be fine. i did it 4 times now with my and friends markers no problem. youll be amazed at how well it improves the markers air usage. make sure you got an rva, cause someitmes you might be shooting too hot once its polished, so you might need to lower the drive spring tension. if you got any questions. feel free to ask, or email me at reapermen@aol.com. good luck bro
oh yeah, theyre are going to be some imperfections in the aluminum inside of the receiver, you cant fix those, so dont try to rub them out, you just have to deal with them. Edited by reapermen |

impyking is telling him ho to polish a 98c cause he just copied that off model98.net without giving them any credit. Now as for polishing an a-5 is even easier. Just take out all the internals then follow the steps they gave you. Of cleaning it out with rubbing alcohol. Then 000 steel wool to take off all the ruffness from inside. Then use more rubbing alcohol to clean out the little bits of steel wool. Then take some mothers mag put it on a clothon and rub it on the inside of your gun till it starts to shine and become well polished loooking. Then let it sit. Oil it and put it back together.

I just polished my A5's inernals today in fact i just got done. an when i gased it up (hpa) I wold cock it and then i would pull the trig and i would hear the bolt go but it never shot. when i was putting it back together teh spring that holds the tombstone latch and trigger spring ( #3 in manual) keept goming out and shooting every where. What could i do to get it working if I can get it working.
b.t.w i hope this is ok to put in this topic and if not sorry Edited by chopper08 |
