Do the 12 inch and 14 inch J & J ceramic barrels have the same accuracy and distance? I read in the forums that any barrel will shoot at the same accuracy as long as it's over 8 inches. If the 12 inch shoots the same as the 14, what is the point of it being any longer?

Where can I find the barrel for the cheapest price?
Is there any place cheaper than County?

If anyone has either one of the two, please tell me how it works. What are some things you like about it and what are some things you dislike?

Thanks.

[Here's my setup. I typed this out a couple of days ago. What would be the next best upgrade? (Besides E-Bolt) What would be the next best mod?]

I have a 14'' J&J ceramic and LOVE IT!! The 12 is the same pretty much. Go to http://www.paintballgear.com - www.paintballgear.com , http://www.countypaintball.com - www.countypaintball.com , http://www.paintballwizard.com - www.paintballwizard.com . Those might be pretty cheap.

I have the 12" on my A-5 & SMG-68, have 12" & 14" on my 68-specials and a 14" on my SL-68. I like the shorter barrel in general, but wanted the longer one on my pump marker. I do not notice any significant difference in accuracy (if there is I can't see one), but do notice a little difference in moving around behind cover.

If they made a 10" I would get new barrels for my A-5 & at least one of my 68-Specials, but that's not an option at this time

-------------
A-5: 12" Ceramic, Egrip/WAS/Duel, HPA, MP5 sliding stock
SMG-68: 12" Ceramic
68-Specials(8): 12"&14" Ceramic, 12V Revy *** 1 Tip-n-Strip, 1 Blue, 1 FA w/Qloader
SL-68: 14" Ceramic
SMG-60 Ext. Line

They should perform the same so it’s user preference. If you want a barrel to move around with, then maybe the smaller barrel would be the best option.

I have a 12", I like the size. It shoots about as good as my friends 14" allamerican.

What kind of paint do you guys like best with your ceramics?

I have a Flatline but I'm sick of buying expensive paint. I get the Draxxus Sunflares from Wal-Mart.($30) Academy sells a huge white bucket of paint for 30 also. I think it has 2000 rounds.

The Flatline is 14 inches long, right? The last time I went to play I noticed I couldn't get around corners to shoot because my tank sticks out so far. I then bought a 8in. Spoon drop forward from North West. I haven't played with it but I think I'll love it. I tried it out behind my couch. Now all I need is a shorter barrel. I've played woodsball once in my life and speedball all the other times. So... I'm going to try and make a speedball gun. (That's cheap to use.)

So from my understanding, the 12 inch barrel and the 14 inch shoot identically. I will buy the 12 inch in the near future.

What do you think about the mods and accessories? What's next? I'm doing the LED light mod and painting it today or tomorrow. What other modifications do you reccomend? What other accessories to you reccomend?

Thanks.

Scratch the painting. Seems to risky. If I screw up, I can never go back to the original black.

This light thing is pretty tough to do. I can't get the light to light up. If I have a 3.7 volt light, do I also need a 3.7 volt battery? Seems logical but I have never heard of a 3.7v battery. AA's are 1.2 or 1.5 volts, C's are 1.5 volts, D's are 1.5 volts. What kind of battery has 3.7?

What, in your opinion, would be the best place to put a blue LED light? Some where everyone can see it and say that's pretty cool.

Every thing in the above post is resolved.

Thanks for your help with the barrels.

paintballs need about eight inchest to stabilize in flight. after that, its up to you how long you want a barrel to be. the longer it is after about 10 inches, the more gas it takes to push it out of the barrel. length and accuracy are not related. accuracy and the quality of the machining of the barrel are what is critical. the JJ barrel are extremely consistent. i sold my flatline and kept my 12inch JJ.
