e-grip can be bought for around 115-120$ and the e bolt last time i checked around 220-230 $

On the e-grip it disengages the sear when its on firemode!\

Also the ballisticsports e-bolt can reach 30bps! But I dont think the 98 custom internals could handle 30 bps

The E-grip for the A-5 can also reach that speed with a custom board.

A sear tripper (E-grip and the sear tripper for the 98c) uses a rod to to trip the sear.  When the sear is tripped the marker fires.  Trip the sear 10 times, the marker fires ten times.

The e-bolt for the 98c (and I believe in the near future, they will have one for the A-5 but dont quote me on that) makes the marker fully electro.  Instead of a rear bolt it uses an air ram to to move the front bolt back and forth.

As far as fire power neither is better.  With the E-grip you can still wear out the sear.(which is still free from Tippmann)  No sear with the E-bolt but you get these new more expensive parts that cost more to fix.  Personally I would just get the sear tripper for the 98c or the E-grip with the A-5.  Less stuff to go wrong.

A sticky a thread that stays at the top.  It has great info in it for everyone to read.

I wouldn't go with Either... But I'm a guy who doesn't like Electro too much but will use it if needed.

I like Mechanical parts more... So if your catching my drift I say R/T unlesss your going to enter in a tournment then I'd go with what ever gun you own... like if you own a 98c go with E-bolt, and if you own an A-5 go with E-grip. I REALLY REALLY Strongly urge you to use HPA and not C02 to power your E-Grip/E-bolt

C02 isn't good for your internals when you Spit out like 5+ pbs it tends to freeze quickly and with HPA I think that problem would just go away. But I guess you could use c02 and see how well it operates on it.

If you have the money and the ability to have it filled get HPA.  It is way more consistent than C02.  I too like mechanical parts as well which is why I bought the A-5.  It was at the time the most expensive and best looking non electro marker in the store.  That was back when I was a newbie and I thought the more expensive it was the better lol.

Now if you're low on money, you can get a C02 tank anti siphoned and with a good x-camber you can get better consistency that with just a C02 tank.  But even with that I recommend HPA.  Its simply better and holds more air.

I don't see how you could have any reason to say the e-grip is better than the e-bolt if money is not an object.

There are far more advantages to the e-bolt than the e-grip. For example...no recoil.

If the E-bolt is $295, and the E-Bolt is $100 then its obviously better for some reason.

Not really.

One makes you gun electropneumatic, the other makes your gun a sear tripper.

1. E Bolt.

2. Its electronic.

3. The E Bolt has more modes, but is also more expensive then a E Grip.

Hope it helps!
