cockers dont break alot. its the noobs that break them.
the upgrades for the cocker would be:
barrel
inline reg
delrin bolt
you dont need delrin detents. people say it eats away the bolt, it does. but that doesnt effect anything. e-orracles, nightkasts, karnis, all come with delrin bolts, and dont have a delrin detent.
new pneus

i played with a guy yesterday and he was shooting a black omen cocker, and man that thing ripped, he said cockers are a pain out of the box and he had to do alot of tuning but once you get it right they are pretty bad!!   still rather have mine though.

I got that '04 and yes I'm a noob and already broke it... the regulator is giving me trouble. I think I just blew an O-ring but Autocockers can take a beating and keep on going so If you were going to get one (even though I love that paintjob) I would suggest getting the Worrblade for it if your into speedball. I can only my '04 up to like 6bps without the Worrblade. The only problem is that the Worrblade costs a lot of money and I personally need to save for a while to get it.

PS: Last I saw the Worrblade costs $475.00
You could also buy the superstock which is basically the same gun with the Worrblade already installed.

nope... that is the one thing I wish I had thought of before I got it (I'm still glad I did, I just need to save now). I would HIGHLY suggest getting the Worrblade for it (which I just saw for 385$). The Stock works great and all but if you are getting into speedball you might wanna check out the worrblade or superstock. Good Luck.

an evil omen isnt a cocker.  i'd go for the cocker but i'd keep the 98 for a backup.  i would say you wont get more than 90 for the 98

omens arent fake cockers.

fake cockers are something attempting to resemble a cocker (pneus, back block, etc)

^maybe he said that cause the omen is a closed bolt gun

I really don't like mech cockers, thats probebly just becuase when I played with one I wasn't used to the trigger and kept short stroking (when you dont pull the trigger all the way back or release it all the way on a cocker it will break paintballs), I would much rather be thinking about the game instead of pulling the trigger right.

I would just slap an r/t on the 98c and use it for the woods/scenario, than save for something like a b2k for speedball. But thats just me.

Since your gun is just a normal 98, not a custom, I'd throw it out, even the upgrades, and the junky paintjob, and buy an impulse vision. They cost a little mre than the 04 vert cocker's, but if you bump the 3way or anything it can break pretty easy on the cocker, if you get an impulse vision, make sure to get the magnetic blade trigger, they're sick.
