Can you use a high pressure preset N2 tank on a low pressure gun or does it mess it up?

NO! You're doubling the required pressure to fire the bolt- it'll break paint and the internals. Use a regulator to only allow 450 psi in. It's the same thing as using 1600 psi in a normal 800 psi gun. BAD IDEA without a regulator.

If the gun has a reg on it like all low pressure guns it would work. The reg would bring the pressure down to 300psi or whatever your running at.
