its photoshoped...granted its a good job on it but theres just some things that you just cant hide...but heres an idea...how about all of us paintballers define ourselvs and move away from the whole mil look? after all the more and more we get closer to mil-sim the more and more the fine line that divides paintball and the military in normal peoples eyes, i realy think we should start making our markers look more like markers and just let the army and stuff deal with the whole mil-sim stuff

but milsims look great man, they are so much more realistic than goofy looking markers, the whole idea on paintball was to make a way to practice millitary training without actually killing. i love those mil sims, and gez its still playing paintball

yea but dude they used mil-sim to do just that...mil sim...we are doing it as a sport...so our markers should reflect how we play, thats just how i see things...but paintball is a sport of self expression as well so use what you like, i just thought i would bring my opponion to the table

Yeah, what you do may be a sport such as speedball. But the other half of us use our paintball markers to do military type things is the woods. Speedball is speedball and they like thier markers shinny and stuff, Woodsball is woodsball they like they're to be like real guns and be camo'd. So thats about all I've got to say.

i the look of mil-sims to but i still hold my out look on it...they are not pratical to be used in paintball as a sport, they are purly rec. and dont hold a candle to sport paintball guns, they are to large, heavy, bulky, and are very big targets, also i dont like the look of angels and stuff ither...i like the look of tippmanns but all of these huge mega mil-sim guns are just to big, but have you seen the mil gun of the future? it looks like a rainmaker

I had to laugh at this and can't believe no one else pointed it out. I play scenario. Therefore my markers are an expression of self and how I play. It's a sport sure...but it is also recreational. It's like Lance Armstrong telling you that you shouldn't get a two-seater bike because it isn't reflecting the sport of bicycle racing.
Even so, I use my MP5 MilSim on speedball fields. Sure it isn't as fast as some other markers but it is small, light, compact and reliable. Plus, I like it. In the end that's what I want. I don't express myself with anodized fades and 30 BPS markers...I do it with flat black paint and weaver rails.
Also, nice woodwork there on that M-4...very sweet.

That's got nothing to do with the marker but the player. Red dot sights are meant to be used with both eyes open. The idea behind it being that you can bring the marker up and have something to aim with very quickly and very accurately. Just as you mention this so too do I remind you that there are guys that get bunkered on speedball fields holding a marker without a single sight on it. The problem is the player's skill...not the marker they are holding.
Anyone who relies on technology to make up for skill is a fool.

Ok, here's my opinion on the MilSim vs "Traditional" markers...
...There are several schools of thought here. 1st, there art those who
actually believe that by referring to our guns as "markers" people won't
associate them with weapons. Even though they are used to "mark"
opposing forces, they are used as "weapons" or in a defensive and
offensive nature. In other words, the hunter and the hunted. This is true
whether you play Speedball or Woodsball. Then there are those who
realize that we play an aggressive sport - sort of an adult version of
"Army" where we play as soldiers....but again the hunted and the hunter.
In this version, we strive for the whole enchilada...that is we want to look
the part as well as "feel" the part. It's called "scenario," "Woodsball"
"MilSim" whatever, it's fighting a small war in a couple of hours with no
casualities (other than pride sometimes.) The rules vary from group to
group. Speedball players on the other hand, play as if in a game of
college football...with rules pretty much set in stone (if you play
tournament). Team against team. The markers used in this are lighter and
more easily used in snapshots. They need to be for quick movement.
So my point here is neither is "bad" or "wrong" and really they're not much
different. If you prefer the Speedball way, then by all means, buy an Angel
or even a Fenix. If you prefer woodsball, buy a Tippmann A5, Custom 98
or even a Spyder and do whatever you want to it...after all, it's your
money and your gun and you can do whatever you choose with it.
So be yourself!!!!
