i want to get an ebolt but i have a few questions/problems with it. on all the sites it lists the firing modes:full auto, turbo, 3 and 6 bursts, and response. it doesnt say anything about semi auto tho. are they just taking for grantite that we know it has it or doesnt the ebolt have semi capabilities. also there are several different kinds of ebolts...sear trippers and w/e. which is better. and finally is it worth the 250+ u pay for it.

Response Mod is Exactly like Semi-Auto but it Shots 1 per pull and 1 per realease.
Long Ago I thought it was a Rip off, but latley watching some in some Real Action they Keep up with the Best so, I Say its Definatly worth it.

The E-bolt has a semi-auto mode. Most of the other modes are not allowed at tournaments and some rec fields.
There are two e-bolts for the 98. Both are real electropneumatic systems, not sear trippers. They made a sear tripper for a short time a while back but no longer.
The E-bolt turns your 98 into a whole new gun.

Response means one shot on the pull and one on the release. Turbo is semi auto until you shoot faster than 5 bps (or something of that nature) then it switches to response mode.

does the e-bolt let you shoot semi but faster. like does the bolt go faster?

The GTA E-bolt maxes out at 13bps. It helps you shoot faster because it removes the mechanical element of the trigger pull. It becomes an electric switch, which is easier to shoot fast. The bolt is operated pneumatically instead of with a spring. A mechanical 98 with a RT can shoot just as fast, so to answer your question:
No, it doesn't make the bolt move faster.

You can not use a stock that mounts where the end cap is located. The new ram goes in that spot. You can however use a stock that is mounted on the bottom of your grip.(can't think of the name right now it's late)
Oh yea HPA is HIGHLY recommended but if your hurting for cash at the very least get anti-siphon.

Wrong and wrong.
The E-Bolt's ram replaces the end cap, and is not compatable with a
stock. Also, you'll want nitro with the E-Bolt because if liquid co2
goes up the microline hoses and get's on the baord it will fry it.

Have e-bolt system and have had problems with paint chopping in the breach. Bolt is jammed with chopped paintball shell,
bolt stays in forward position when this happens.

^^^What hopper are you using? And do you have the dwell adjusted
properly? The E-Bolt doesn't fully cycle when it starts shooting fast,
the bolt won't go all the way back and the ball will only partially
feed into the chamber and get chopped. Sounds like that's your problem.
You need a good force fed hopper to fight it, preferably a Halo.

Speaking of GTA vs. BSI. Everything I hear is that the BSI ebolt is a lot better, but i have one question then why does someone as smart and well read as Greg Smith use the GTA ebolt? Greg I am just curious and want to hear your argument for the GTA.

First of all I just want to say that I completely agree with you! I am smart and well read.
I bought the GTA for the simple reason that County Paintball sells them and the owner is a friend, teamate, and sponsor.
That being said I don't think there is anything that much better about the BS system. Some say it has a better micro reg giving it better consistency. I average +/- 6fps, which is excellent. The BS system doesn't have a cap on its semi auto mode, which is good, but I can't shoot much faster that 13bps anyway. The trigger switch is a little different, though I think it makes little difference.
Other that that they are very similar in design and function. You won't go wrong either way. I never argue against the BS system nor say you should get one or the other. Though I think the GTA system has a cleaner look.

Look http://www.ballisticsports.com/item_pages/tutorials/bsm98etutor-ekit.htm - here. In tournament lock mode the cap is raised to 30 bps so it might as well not have one.
