After Looking At Greg Smith's Gun I am Highly Thinking of making me one of those Suped up 98 Customs... I know Everybody will Say Get a Better Gun, but NO! I want to keep it Tippmann... Its The Fact you didn't go along with the Heard and buy a gun like 1,000 people Allready got... This gun is going to be Special.

Here are My upgrades I was Thinking of.

  • 98 Custom---------------------------- <138$>
  • E-Bolt Kit -----------------------------<225$>
  • Low-Pressure Kit ----------------------<110$>
  • *AKA Sidewinder regulator*------------<110$>
  • Dye Sticky Grips '03--------------------<30$>
  • Toxic Double Trigger-------------------<20$>
  • Macroline Kit---------------------------<10$>
  • Lapco 12" Bigshot--------------------- <54$>
  • Halo B w/ Rip Drive-------------------- <137$>
  • Crossfire 68/4500 (850 Output)---------<213$>
  • Redz 68ci bottle Cover-----------------<13$>
  • Nipple Cover w/ Chain------------------<8$>
  • Lapco Trigger Guard------------------- <23$>
  • *Shocktech Dropforward*--------------<36$>
  • *Rocket CockII*-----------------------<14$>

Total $Price$: 1,129$

*I've Updated the list and the looks... I switched the Bob Long Torpedo for the 'Aka Sidewinder', I also Added the Shocktech Drop Kit so that the HPA Bottle doesn't stick out like 3 feet, I've Also Added a Rocket Cock II, just for looks.*  Thats Probably Exactly how its going to go... I cant find anything else Better.

Note: **'s around the name indicate Change.

for barrel get a flatline or if you're wallet is not that big get a bigshot. If you're actually going to utilize all the modes of fire on the e-bolt then, by all means, get it. But, if not then just get the R/T. You really don't need the rip drive on the Halo B hoper just carry extra batteries. Getting the normal one will save you what 20 bucks?

^ I already have a black 98 Custom with R/T and I've tryed the flatline and it wasn't really my style of playing...

I was also thinking of Ditching the Halo Also, and Getting a AK or a 12v Revvy.

Ok, you don't like the flatline so don't use it. The bigshot is probably the next best thing.

Instead of getting a double trig, i think you should buy a stick trig. Cause you can walk the trigger so much easier if the trig is straight and not curved.

Thats terrible. If u get a double trig, you could sand it down really well and make it a blade trig. I did that to sum1s trigger and it looked pretty cool.

OMG what a spammer ;) 1300 in little over a month.

Don't forget all the mods.

I suggest a chrome dye ultralite, it's much better then the bigshot, i mean you're spending so much anyways, 40 bucks dif isn't that much when you're already spending over $1000.

Flame me all you want but it's a waste of money putting that much in a tippy. It's not really going with the flow it's what's smart. You could be a pretty high end electro for that price. but hey if you want that go for it but 1000 just to be diffrent I'd go that somthing that is actually worth the 1000.

Good luck!

^ The Gun its self is not worth 1,000$

I added The Hopper(137$) and the HPA Tank(213$) the cover(13$) and the Nipple cover(8$) for the fun of it... The Gun its self only has around 550$ worth of Upgrades and 1/2 that is the E-bolt kit. I just added it all together for a Grand Total.

I'm sorry but i think you should consider getting a better gun instead of a 98c. With that money you can get a heck of a gun and it'll be thousand time better than the 98c. No doubt tho that is a good set up but why bother?

DO NOT EVER GET A FLATLINE FOR A 98 CUSTOM

I would never invest 1000.00 into a tippmann, may sound like a cool idea but no save like 400 more bucks and get a smart parts nerve when it comes out, it comes with  a nitro tank.

Posted By: Paintball Panda
Date Posted: 14 July 2004 at 7:17pm

WebHalex: I know better not to get a Flatline. I think there junky. And also I dont want a gun everybody Else goes along with this gun will a special one.

Teabag_joe: Im getting the 98 Custom Because I want to keep it Tippmann... Also I want to Have a Very Special Gun, not some Gun Everybody boasts about.

Holysmartone: Yep there will be lots.. Come around Febuary or January.

98c-Baller: BKO's are a nice gun but once they Break once they will be in and out of the Proshop getting Fixed... beleave me.

Sugarfree: I would get a Drop but I dont think the E-bolt can Have one... I dont think there are bolt long enough for one and, i dont think some of the Hoses could reach if I got one. That Trigger is kool but installing it Sux... I'm just going to Stick with my Toxic and Nickle plated Guard.

Sounds good.  Have fun with it, and don't foget paintball was made to have fun, not get the best gun.

Posted By: instap
Date Posted: 15 July 2004 at 6:06pm

the rocket cock still has a small hole on the back of it if you don't have the ring part that pulls the bolt back. but i guess you could leave that on and have it look like it's a side cocking gun.

I thought the l/p kit comes with a rear cocking system.  which would (i imagine) come with a part that'll cover up the side.  you're using the ebolt so you wouldn't have the rear cocking system anymore, but you could still use the cover part.  I could be wrong, but you might wanna look into that.

Don't get me wrong, i love my rocket cock, but you might not like the way it looks.  it kinda makes the side of your gun... well, slightly bigger than it used to look.

please get the bsi ebolt kit

recomendation: get an evil trigger, much much better. (pm evil-98)
other recomendation: you may have said this and i missed it.... centerfeed kit.

Posted By: Paintball Panda
Date Posted: 15 July 2004 at 11:53pm

^ What makes the BSI Bolt better then the E-bolt?

Yea I want Centerfeed so bad too... But I PM'd Greg Smith, He has Center Feed, and he tolled me OHWM has it, but when I checked the store it was down.

Balistic Sports is better. User friendly interface. Change modes on the fly. Faster rate of fire. And I like how the LED blinks from green to red every time it fires. And dont forget the round guy pictured on the battery cover. Who could ask for anything more.

So you think I should go with a BSI Instead.... Are the Trigger pulls any diffrent? or they about the same pull?

Here's a pic of my project gun so far. I got the rufus dog vert. feed though i planned to do the KP customs feed but i couldnt wait. I'll need a drop and change out the rehulator since some of these paerts are from my other marker. Paintjob is also in the planning stages...thinking about SIN customs for a nice powderciat design.

biggest waste of money ever.

sure it may perform like a high end gun, but you still lose in the weight and size department.

plus, u cant get a rocket cock and ebolt at the same time smart one.

Posted By: TippmannEffect
Date Posted: 23 July 2004 at 5:09pm
Instead of getting a rear cocking system, have someone fill in the cocking "whole" on the side of the gun this will give it a better look.
I suggest the BSI e-bolt like some of the others.
