i strongly dis-liked that ugly stock hopper on the a5 so i drew up a plan and made a hopper mount. its not very stylish but bacically i just made the bottom like the bottom of the hopper where it twists into place. from there i just made a flat cap and in the middle i have a smooth tube coming out with the inner diamater of aftermarket hoppers with a small milled slot with a screw to put tension on the hopper so all you have to do is slide the hopper you want in and tighten the screw. do any paintball companies make this adapter and if they dont do you think they would sell well?

this is not the finished product as you can see it is much thicker than it should be and there is still a little milling to do and i havent put in the screw but ill repost the pics of the new finished one on my gun but i dont have access to a camera right now

It's a great concept And very nice machine work.

I am not sure I like the setscrew, seems like it would dimple the inside of the tube and obstruct the balls. Maybe slits with a clamp around it to tighten up on the hopper tube (similar to the 98)

Will it sell?   Probably. I really don't see the need to replace the stock hopper. But, there are a lot of folks who are more concerned about looks than performance

yes in the newer ones i have made i made the slit go all the way through much like the 98 with a screw to tighten it. keep in mind that was the prototype and was pretty rough when i took a pic of it.

You lucky piece of crap-  I mean I wish I had a CNC machine. Of course it'll sell- just don't let any other paintball companies see your idea here and steal it. Patent it and sell it to the companies. You could try to produce it yourself, but you'll be working 24-7 and your adapter will be horribly back ordered.

Might I suggest- you wouldn't need it that rounded. Just make a slot to "hide" the metal spike coming out of the gun's frame, and make two holes for it to slide right over the pins. Then, make a hole threaded for the one screw that holds the entire cyclone system. Also, what are you going to do about the air still coming out of the gun for the cyclone? Oooo! Maybe you could turn it around so CO2 users can have air conditioning.
