here is my A-5 AK-47 project.

here is why it is so cool.

Flatline incorporated in the front assembly, E-Grip, hand made stocks (see exploded pic, solid and Paratrooper). i use a gas thru grip ASA.

the red dot is zeroed. i use it whenever the opportunity arises, like someone's head.

the main "barrel" is actually a steel pipe. the flatline is the gas barrel up top.

it took me about 15 hours to make. the front is made of 2 oak 1x4's cut to hold the flatline and the steel pipe.

john.

yeah, but i realized that afterwards. much wood working is need to correct that issue, like a new stock altogether. i need more oak. i ran out, so i gotta go get some more. maybe i'll make the correct stock. thanks for the info.

great, alot of fun. i used the AK. the field paint wasn't having the flatline at all. so i switched to the M-16. i was gonna use the M-1, but i forgot my remote. the perfect day to use the M-1, D-Day, and i couldn't. It was cool.

yeah, but what can you do... is your 08C grey or white?

i knew before hand the color of the field paint, and i could've snuck in big ball, but i respect Jim too much to do that. so i went along with the rules. i had fun anyway. in the end, it was us slaughtering them. talking, and shooting every once in a while. fun.

You should paint it the color of an ak-47. that would be awesome. Great job on your ak-47

Awesome job doing the work yourself, but you'll have to complete with Thompsonshooter on who has the best in town.

Like the Flatline idea - very clever.  But Thompsonshooter and Jefangel still have more authentic-looking stuff...   You should check out their websites.

This looks more like a AK-47:

And yes, that's an A-5. Has a fully functional stock too:

Not bad though, just need some color coordination. Good work

Nice man. But if you have the flatline isnt it a little wierd aiming. Because the paint dosnt come out of the end of whats supposed to be the AK barrel?

im not into milsim very much but good job. an answer to the post above me: he took the barrel out of the round metal casing of the a-5 flatline and used it without all that bulk that it comes as normally. the top part of the barrel in the picture is the barrel and it curves down to his gun.

well, i was hoping for a good response from Thompson and Jefangel. i seem to have gotten it. i know, they have machine shops, and access to real weapon parts. well, i don't. so if you like it, thank you very much. if you don't like it, show me your home-made mods, and we'll talk.

That's insanely awesome that you have the flatline man.  I lvoe the a-5's removable breech/threading!  Did thompson's have a flatlien in any of his aks?  I like the wooden looks of thompsons, you should atleast do that with the stock.

UPDATE: no pic of the changes, but i stripped off the paint, stained it using Minwax's Early American, a mid tone stain, took off the ASA, and made a new stock, an AK stock, stained to match. i then got some Vinyl Oak wrap, that plastic stuff you buy in rolls for crafts and stuff, and wrapped it around the E-grip. so, it looks more like an AK than before. i will get an pic up. also, my new Tommy gun w/ oak foregrip, and my new MP-5 i just finished. thanks for you interest.

Looks like you did a great job, but once u put on the cyclone hopper, good luck with making that look like an ak-47, it will lose its looks if you plan to use it in a real game between the hopper and the co2 tank.

Posted By: Guitar87

MILSIM isn't my gig because once you put the hopper and the tank on it kills the looks. Good job though.

It looks alright, although I like sleak guns better, it is still nice though. I thought AKs did not use scopes.
