Ok, so I want to upgrade my custom 98's stock barrel, but I am somewhat
limited in price. I've found a couple of barrels that are in my price
range, and I'm wondering which barrel would be better for me.
(I'm a casual player, playing once a week, using medium quality paint
)
1)new PMI Razzor 12" barrel
2) spyder threaded teardrop (don't know length, and I would be buying used) + tippmann adapter would be the same price as above.
or
3)for $20CDN more, I could get a progressive barrel (I would much rather stick with options 1 and 2 though)
So, which barrel is better? keep in mind I'll be using all sorts of paint.

Sorry for the bad news pal, but how about option #4
#4 Save up $50 and get a Lapco bigshot in 12 inch length.
Well, besides the that, WELCOME to the forum and be careful not use the cursed speach of the paintball $n!per$!!!
Good Luck!

The only problem is, my local paintshop doesn't carry the bigshot, so
I'd have to order it in, adding even more cost, and taking me that much
farther over my budget.
snipers? BAH, bunch of wimps. I love rushing right up to the middle of
the field, and getting all the paint flying my way. (Of course, this
usually means I'm one of the first ones out). Bunkering is fun, but
it's usually a suicidial run for me

negative on the flatline ghost rider. they stink. get a teardrop mine is awsome and i can out shoot any one with there flatline.trust me you will not be anger with me. my friend had a pro carbine with a ultralight, i can out shoot it so now he has a 98 with teardrop. works the best no joke. every sniper wanna be around here has the teardrop, they r the best in my opinion for the 98. even though they r cheap.

Thanks for all the replies. Man, so many decisions. I'm leaning towards
the teardrop with spyder threads, and picking up an adapter. Anybody
have any problems with the adapter? Anything I should look for in the
adapter that may cuase me grief?

Well as you put it I also am a casual player but I've read in some
posts that the model 98 to A-5 thread adapter just sends your accuracy
to shame ?¿ I am not 100% positive if this is true but just I guess my
newb 2 cents!
P.S to everybody I am aware he doesn't need that adapter just adapters in general is might not be the best idea.

Dont get the teardrop, 98sniper doesn't know what he's talking about. The flatline is THE ONLY barrel (except for maybe the hammerhead) that increases distance. If you dont really care about distance go for the bigshot, it will outshoot the teardrop any day.

Either get Big shot or a Flatline Both are great barrels but you might want to shoot them first then decide.

no i do no and the flatline does but its not as accurate. i hate the flatline and everybody knows this. why have some hting shoot far with hardly any accuracy. and you guys can't even tell me no about this. if you lean to ones side or the other your ball will curve. wait just hink about it and i see newbis think this is the coolest thing ever. the barrel puts backspin on the ball to make the ball travel a lil upwards or makes the ball seem lighter. but when you tip it too the side it will curve that way. so i love the teardrop and drew from tippmann effect used one before he played for te, but now the only barrel he think is better is the werks barrel.

Obviously some people don't read what the guy said. He said money IS an issue. So why are you even discussing a Flatline? I have a Progressive, shoots fine (even though I prefer my All American). Also, as some have mentioned above, the J&J Ceramic is supposed to be really good barrel for about $35 USD. I haven't shot one, but hundreds of Tippmann shooters can't be wrong. Most important thing though is to get a good paint to barrel match.
P.S. STAY AWAY FROM THE RAZOR
