I never really "got" The Doors. Their music seemed like nonsense to me. Dunno.

It depends a lot on what mood I'm in. My wife really likes country and sometimes I just don't feel like dealing with the twang.

While I think he's pretty much a freak personally, Elton John writes some great music. Same with Michael Jackson. Freak, but has some darn good music.

I suggest a band called The Real McKenzies. They are to Scottish sounds and folk music, what Flogging Molly is to Irish sounds and folk music.

Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphy's are in red and big because they are my favorites.

All these are favorites of mine, including AFI, Pink Floyd, At The Drive-In, Opeth, Bad Religion, Cursive, OAR, Darkest Hour, From Autumn To Ashes, Fear Before the March of Flames, The Number 12 Looks Like You, The Mars Volta and Tool. And a lot of other stuff I listen to that I wouldn't really call all time favorites.

Last summer they played at the abandoned highschool just a few km's down the street from my house. I could hear it without even going.

Death From Above 1979( RIP )

I was pretty sad when I heard the news. Atleast they burned the rolling stones in their break-up announcement.

I myself like everything from punk to indie pop and folk. Highlights include:

Stars
Death From Above 1979
Protest The Hero
NOFX
Wolf Parade
The Mountain Goats
Many bands from the Elephant Six collective.
