We had a family down for vacation this week and one of the kids was 6 years old. He was one of those annoying little kids that act all motcho yet still sucks on his thumb. Well my brother and I were going out to play paintball and he wanted to come, his mom would let him play so he cried for 30 minutes till she said he could play. He gave him my 98 custom, put shoulder pads on him and a camo jacket that went all the way to the floor. We walked over to our field. First game we played was him verse me, I knew that if I hit him he would cry and cry and cry so I basically ran circles around him and shot shot trees 20 feet from him. He also called three time outs, one because he thought that our paintballs had colided in mid air yet it was just one on his paintballs hitting a shrub tree, then he called a time out because his gun wouldn't shoot because he had the safty on, and called another time out because he ran out of paint(yea he used a full 200 round hopper without a single hit). He finnaly hit my hopper. Then when my brother played him the next game my brother shot at him twice and hit him in the mask, right in the mouth(the kid was standing right in open). He ripped off his mask and started running home to his mommy balling his eyes out. It was hallarious.
Anyone known a younger paintballer??

I saw a 5 year old kid walking around on the field once.
He was the son of one of those speedball tourney fanatic morons... (Sadly, they are breeding...)
He wasn't playing, but rather walking around in a circle... it was quite odd... Then he got hit in the leg, or something...
It didn't make any sense...

No, it isn't.
Age isn't a factor, it's maturity.
In this case, the kid was too IMATURE to be playing.

Major factor in maturity is age, especially in young children. Children
tend to have a very short attention span, which can be dangerous.
They also don't know, don't remember, or disregard what might be a
dangerous situation (i.e. jumping off tall objects, playing near deep
water, touching a hot stove)
Another important thing about young children is that they tend to lack
physical strength and dexterity to be able to perform what we think of
as normal tasks.
Point is, if you can't tie your shoe, you shouldn't be on a paintball field.

So just because hes 6 doesn't mean he can't play paintball. To me someone as little as 5 can play as long as they know how to hold and shoot a paintball gun.

Some kids once who must have been 6 or 7. They wouldn't call themselves out and would not only keep playing, but shoot at people who were out. But if we shot at them after they failed to call out, they whined and cried.

I saw a 5 yr old play, and he was ok for his age. He learned to keep people down and I think he managed to hit at least one person since I first saw him.
I alos taught a 4 yr old to shoot one.
I started at 14. I'm 16 now.

I've seen a pair of 5 year old twins playing at my field with their dad. They were pretty good for their age.
