1.) Why would you bump this?
2.) Yes, it is extremely ugly.
3.) Poking jokes at kids with Tippmanns isn't very smart on a Tippmann forum. If you wanted to troll, why don't you go somewhere else?

impulse=ugly outdated brick. The only cool impulse is an Impulse with an owner that isn't stuck up. Your impulse sucks.

Tippmann A-5=Woodsball marker that has absolutely no comparison to an Impulse.

That made me laugh very hard. I think thats sig worthy.
Oh, and I went out and played Speedball at a field, and I saw 8 Tippmanns. All owned by Military guys. Like 4 tricked out A5s, all that milsim crap, 3 98s (One had a Warp feed!), and an X7. They did very well.
AND... My Mag actually went down. Then my friends pump went down that I was suppose to use. Then, I used a rental gun for 1 game(all I got to play that whole day, a $26 game), and I got 3 people out, and I was the last person standing. So, impulseowner, shutup about gun usage.

Impulse Owner, the gun is alright... its nothing fantastic. There are much better, faster, smaller and LIGHTER guns out there. The Impulse, for a paintball gun, was a heavy very very tall brick.
Just face facts, the Impulse is a dinosaur in the modern human world.

Okay. You're just being rediculous now. I'm gonna compare the stock Smart Parts Impulse to a gun I know, love and own: a Race Framed 'cocker, about the same year the Impy was the paintball standard.
Weight: I haven't held an Impulse, but from what I've read and had people tell me, they are anvils. The 'cocker, while not known for being feather light, is a decent gun, in the area of 3 to 3.5 lbs, which is entirely managable.
Height: The Impy's stacked tube electro design, coupled with a massive 'noid tray, make it one of the tallest markers around. With it's gargantuan stock feedneck, that doesn't help. The 'cocker is also stacked tube, but the pneumatics and 'noid are situated beneath the barrel, saving a lot of space. 'Cocker bodies have generally been fairly short, but especially compared to an Imp, the 'cocker might as well be a Mini...
Speed: The Impulse needs a lot of money put into it to keep up with todays speed demons, or my Raced 'cocker for that matter. You need internals, LPR's, a tapeworm, a new board, etc. My Race frame is pretty much stock. All the updates I need can be downloaded for free off the internet. It has adjustable speed ramping, burst, semi, classic, full auto and sniper modes. I'm not entirely sure what the heck Sniper mode is for, but it's there. For a 'cocker to perform fully, it does need some accessories though. Eyes, if you can't tune it right, lightened bolt/backblock and QEV's. That's pretty much it.
Resale: 'Cockers are known for deminishing resale values, but nothing compared to Imps. A fully loaded (whatever that may mean to you) electronic 'cocker can go for $400 still, where a fully loaded Imp will be lucky to fetch 2 bills.
Parts: Sure the Imp has a lot of upgrades, but nothing can compare to the plethora of parts, upgrades and accessories available to a 'cocker. What's more, 'cockers still have a loyal following, so there are a good number of machinists who produce 'cocker parts. Pretty much everything for an Impulse has been discontinued. There's no market for them.
Long story short, 'cocker > Impulse.

Yeah, but mine was more fun to say. And this kid is really starting to tick me off, for lack of desire to use some stronger language.
Impulse_owner: Look here, and follow along. First off, I'd like to make this clear. Do not label me as one of the "u only liek nu guns!!1!" people because I share a different opinion about an Impulse. I was about to buy an Impy, but thanks to idiots like you, I've decided against it. Do you realize the newest gun I've owned is a 2003? Do you know that was about the height of the Impulses fame? My preference is strictly older.
As for the gun itself, I can understand you liking it; I like Imps myself. But get your head out of your arse and realize there are FAR BETTER guns out there the same age as your beloved Impulse.
By the way: SFT is a marketing gimmick, nothing more.

i'll be he doesn't even know what a rainmaker is.
Okay, mr. oldschool.
If you really think "Old is just as good an can own", why not buy a PGP? Phantom? Or hell, even a kingman hammer? I'm pretty sure i could "OWN" with those markers. In fact, i do. That's right, i use those three markers on a regular basis. Why do i use such old/outdated markers? To make it more challenging to play paintball. Yes, i use old markers. And no, i do not go around telling people they are better than their makers. That's because i know for a fact, they aren't.
You are doing nothing to benefit the forum. All you have said is "IMPULSE OWNS". However you have not given any support to why the Impulse is a good marker or why you like it. All you have given to support your claims are "OLD CAN BE JUST AS GOOD!" and other pointless little tidbits.
Well, Mr. Impulse Poster, why is it that when i see an impulse, it either ;A-Breaks down or ;B- Does not get the job done? Why is it that people who have far more knowledge than you do in the game of paintball disagree with your statements? Why is it that you support a company that is extremely commercial and tries to shut other paintball companies down to make profits of their own? Because you are flat out wrong.
Just think things through. I have nothing against people shooting impulses, and i completely understand their outdated appeal, however, i am telling you as a fact, that any impulse will never be as good as any of the new stuff coming out.
And also, you are an idiot. Good day.

i think impulses are good if u have the rigt stuff for them like a was board a milled body and 90* trigger frame a 45/45 tank and a halo and the total freak kit a strange bolt a qlock and stuff like o yea and a lpr. and that can stay up with any pmr for what u have and u wont chop it may be a little heavier but thats why u have muscle and u can make them okay size but they are a little bigger then some single tubbed guns.but this is a woodsball fourm beucse its tippmann and i play woodsball and people with a5 guns are just as big i think impulses are just a little bit smaller

Do you realize after all of that, you've just spend enough money to buy a new ego?
and that can stay up with any pmr for what u have and u wont chop it may be a little heavier but thats why u have muscle and u can make them okay size but they are a little bigger then some single tubbed guns.
Paintball is about agility. No matter how fast you can sprint, if you have a big gun weighing you down, you won't move fast enough.
but this is a woodsball fourm beucse its tippmann and i play woodsball
Actually, this isn't a woodsball
forum. It's a paintball forum. I actually prefer speedball over
woodsball, as does many other forumers on here.
and people with a5 guns are just as big i think impulses are just a little bit smaller
Are you kidding me? Stock A5s are much smaller than impulses. Lighter too. Even the X-7 is lighter than the Impulse.

But do you concede that the Ego is a superior gun to the Impulse?
It simply isn't designed for the modern tournament scene.

Consider what you're getting for the money...

I would like you to retype that. With grammar, reasonable spelling and punctuation. I honestly don't know what you said.
You're on a forum, you have all the time in the world to type a post. This isn't AIM...

Yes, so you concede that the Imp is not the best gun and is dated... but additionally...
out of used markers you can get in the price range of an impulse there are MUCH BETTER choices (ICD Freestyle, older angels, cockers, older DM's, PM5, etc),.... or even new Promasters, Fusions, and Ions outperform the impulse.
If you really like the design of the Impulse you can even get the SPn Nerve used for around the same price of some Impulses. It is similar to an Impulse except a) newer, b) lighter c) faster d) already upgraded w/ bells and whistles out of the box.
So unless you are getting an impulse for under $80 dollars it is the worst possible marker choice you can make..

If you like the design of the impulse, get a Viking.
Smart Parts needs to die.

HEY NOW! For some odd reason, I like my friends VS1. I even had to talk myself out of getting a cheaper setup and buying one of those.
Hey, breakbeam eyes, and it doesnt feel that bad.

This means I may have to buy a VS2, apparently.

Sorry dude, I'm not trying to bash you or call you poor or anything, but Smart Parts hasnt been producing any new impulses for a long time.
The most recent upgrade made for impulse by SP was the Blackheart board, and it didnt sell well at the shop at all.

VS2s aren't bad. They molest batteries but otherwise I like them.
