Yeah, because mechanical cockers are just sooooo much faster than tippys. I guess annodizing and chrome increases your ROF.

ok, well let me fix that, i was looking at the BKO that shoots faster, i think i a going to sell my tippy and ket one of those they r like 280 ebay. Also i see that the Bko shoots 18-22 bps, so mt rico or reloader wont keep up with that, will a warp feed make it keep up with the 1-22 bps??

Your tippy only sucks at woodsball because your using it wrong.  That was too foward I know but I can't count how many times I've purposely shot people in their over priced fully auto paint wasters and watched their battery operated hoppers crack open.  I use a 98 custom with nothing but a new barrel that cost less than $200 dollars.  I'm good because I know that I'll get wasted going toe-to-toe with an expensive gun so instead I play it cool and wait until I know I have the upper hand.  woodsball is about techneique not tech. (wow I just thought of that, god I'm smart, and modest). besides save money and force yourself to get better rather than blaming it on your gun.

I think Tippmann's are the best woods ball guns. Like ieatpaint said "woodsball is about techneique not tech."  He's right, you have to use your advantages in woodsball.

^ Couldn't say it better myself.

A Mech cocker will shoot as Fast or slower then your current tippy. If your seriously thinking about Selling your tippmann and buying a new Gun, the Best Gun I can think of better then a Tippmann in woods would be... ... ...  a BKO but with that you'll need low pressure HPA, and most likely a Electric Hopper, so there goes around 250$-350$.

Just Keep your Tippmann, and if your pissed off its slow throw in a E-bolt/E-grip and you'll see your Tippmann aint so Bad.

BKOs can only shoot like 15.  They say 18, but thats a lie.

people usually dont use cockers and angels for woodsball because of their structure and durablity. they would likely get messed up in some conditions, but CAN and will work just as well in most situations.

ahahahahahahhahaa that is so funny.  Do you know how well made and duriable angels are, they can survive in the woods fine, and so can any gun just dont throw it into mud and it will work

A mech cocker is easier to shot faster on then a tippy plus u can e-blade it and it will be faster than the tippy, now i play speed alot and make a trip outdoors once and a while, it does help to be able to shot fast, i cant think of one situation where it WOULDN'T help to have a faster gun

I can shoot my Mech cocker faster than i could my Tippmann. The trigger pull is so much smoother, and people think the trigger pull on cockers is really long but it actually fires withing the first 1/4 of the pull. So I think you should get a cocker, a good cocker for woodsball would be a WGP VFT.

My A5 is my first choice for woodsball. I also have two cockers, a timmy, and an Angel. But as it was said, woodsball is about technique, not bps.

Your gun is only as good as you are.

warps are stupid

i think that a mech cocker can out shoot a tippy, and with the right barrel or barrel kit it can be even more accurate.

In speedball, its 93% Skill and 7% gun. In Woods ball, its 98% skill and 2% gun, and Tippmann is a great woodsball gun because:

1- You can get it dirty without destroying it
2- It has the Flatline
3-They have all of the ROF that you need with a double trigger.

You can shoot all the balls downrange you want.  But if you cannot hit you your target without at least 15 to 25 bps, you need more practice not expensive equipment.

The point here is that speedball techniques are not always appropriate for woodsball.  A lot of players get hung up on which marker is best at this or that, but forget that it only takes one paintball to put you out.

get an R/T or E-Bolt your your 98c and a new hopper and you can shoot really fast. then you wont have to get a new gun. i own a 98c and i love it. i say in woodsball you dont have to shoot that fast. its more of consistancy shots.whatever floats your boat though.

You know, I'm really surprised no one mentioned the AGD Tac-One.

Even though I have 5 cockers and an angel (and I play with them in the woods), I would love to take this baby onto the field (if I had the $$ to buy one).

Since the topic is "woodsball gun?", I too would recommend a tippmann.  If you feel you may venture outside of woodsball and enjoy speedball in the future, an automag or cocker would work well in both situations.  Woodsball can potentially consist of wear and tear situations, where moisture may seep into the internals.  In this case, an electronic gun may be damaged.

Ultimately it does depend on your tactics and strategy.  I only own speedball guns, and when playing woodsball, I have used the high rate of fire to my advantage.  This high rate of fire only provides me an advantage in specific situations.

While woodsball and speedball both have their own particular quirks, really doesn't matter what marker you use for either.  Generally you want something robust in a woodsball environment just because you have more things to bang your marker into but other than that it is up to you.  If you are new to the sport a Tippmann or a Spyder will make a fine first marker since they are easy to work on and require little maintenance. Tippmanns are known for being robust markers even if you neglect them maintenance wise so if your maintenance skills are not very good that may be something to consider too.

In general stay away from the more pricey markers.  One, if you get a marker and find out that you're not going to stick with the sport (for whatever reason) you have invested less of your money into it. Secondly, the minor nuances that make a high end marker worth the money will not be useful to the new player.  Their skill level will not meet the performance level of that marker.  By getting and inexpensive marker and playing with it for a few months (or even a year) you will see if you really are going to stick with the sport and gain a lot of valuable experiance so when it comes time to put down your hard earned money for that more expensive marker you'll have a better idea of what features you want and what marker will thus serve your needs the best.

Hope this helps.
