Especially for CG stuff like that. It makes it easier to be anatomically correct with the clothing and shading, muscle bulges, fat rolls, and the like, as well as keeping in proportion consistantly throughout the film. |

For the Final Fantasy movie they spent a good chunk of the budget on modeling and animating her. I think it was an article in Wired that said each hair on her head was rendered. Maybe another source, but still, that's a lot of rendering. -------------
