this is something that has started to get kind of annoying what is it ith this rise in popularity of crappy emo bands i cant turn on the tv without hearing some stupid band like yellowcard, newfound glory , dashboard confessional thrice and other crap can someone tell me what is so appealing about listening to some guy who dresses or looks punk to do it for fashion and sings about how his girlfriend dumped him and how sad he is because he cant be with his girl. I mean it cant even be labeled as punki got excited when i was flipping through channels and saw on fuse that the next show on blended punk videos with skateboarding I wait through all of the commercials and what is the first video NEW FOUND FREAKING GLORY a stupid emo band being labeled as punk i got so angry. thanks for listening and if anybody could clear this up or shares the same felings with me please post

First of all, that's not really what the people who are picky about genres would call emo. I'd consider someone who actually did like real emo to have a much better taste in music, but then again, I still am not an emo fan at all. (For "real" emo bands, check out I Hate Myself, Hot Cross, and Saetia... depressing names, but the whole emo thing is strange like that).

Second, anything motivated by money, including music, starts succombing to the rule of economics. Any quality and extra-time spent on songs is cut out and the result is mass-produced music. Try listening to more underground stuff, it's probably not as bad as you think and you'll probably end up thanking yourself for being open-minded in a month or so.

It's what teenage girls and guys are bobbing their heads to, and it's whats selling right now.  In other words, it's just going to be a fad like boy bands were.

Yes, thanks to the likes of Sum 41, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlette, etc, The Punk/Pop craze has taken off. Don't worry, I hear the Backstreet Boys have a new album coming out soon, so Boy Band Pop will be back in style before you know it....

Ok so everyone complains that boy bands and all these girls singing are taken over, and everyones says bring back rock, well its coming back, just in a different outfit, just deal with it there's nothing you can do about it, who cares what they call themselves, if i like it, i'll listen to it, and I don't see why everyone else cant think the same way
