Doesn't hurt more, shoots a bit faster (10 fps or so) but so turn down your velocity a bit when you get it.

Why dont you guys chip in for a chronograph? That way you can all play safely under 300 fps.

Nitro and CO2 work exactly the same. If you shoot at 300fps or below, you wont feel a difference at all. Yes, nitro is slightly better for your gun because it is "cleaner" than CO2.

How do you figure? At 70 degrees, a full CO2 tank puts out about 850 psi..How much does a High output Nitro tank put out? Around 850 psi...300 fps is still 300 fps..

Velocity is what makes it shoot fast or slow. Air just powers the gun, you should make sure you are under 300 or yes the paintballs can hurt and draw blood (it happened to me).

dude It takes the velocity bolt as in as little as possible on an A-5 to draw blood on me but anyways If you get shot with it like just having your skin hit by pure CO2 then HPA does hurt more or at least to me it does

paintballs coming out of a hpa gun dont seem to whiz by like co2, they seem to be thrown by you. for example hpa is like a pither throwing a baseball. while co2 is like a batting machine shooting it whith lots of force.

this is all in your mind, due to the laws of physics if your velocity is the same if cant hurt more, as long as the size of the paintballs is the same (like huge size differences) they are going to have the same momentum and feel the same

Co2 is less consistant nitro is better for you gun, if velocities are the same it won't hurt more.

just think about it man... at 275 FPS powered by CO2 (thats what my A5 shoots best at) the ball is going to hit you and break (hopefully) at the most you get a little sting. at 275 FPS powered by Nitro its goin to do the exact same thing b/c the FPS are the same. the gas makes no difference as long as you chrono to the same FPS.
if anything Nitro will hurt less b/c its more consistant and doesnt have velocity spikes like CO2

first of all......nitro doesnt hurt more PERIOD!...second......if im right tippys were made to run on co2....nitro is cleaner but if u hav an exp. chamber then u dont hav to worry cuz it changes liquid co2 into gas.... but lastly...i think nitro would b alittle more accurate

300fps feels the same as 300fps no matter what ur shooting with, but if i were you i wouldn't get nitro because it isnt worth the money you are going to spend on it.

I don't know, sometimes the gnomes in my nitro tanks put sharp metal shards in the paintballs..so watch out for that.

Nitro=hype! Unless you have a gun that requires nitro I wouldn't get it.

Just a note here, but at 60 degrees Nitro will be more powerful, and at 80 degrees Co2 will be more powerful.

Also, the more you shoot with Co2, the more it stirs up the Co2 in the tank, causing it to cool down resulting in a HUGE loss of FPS.Nitro, unlike Co2, does NOT cool down w/ every shot and is therefore mofe consistant and accurate.

Furthermore, Co2 is both a gas AND a liquid (both of them in the same tank) and that liquid is VERY cold and will quickly destroy the o-rings in your gun if it ever gets in there.  Nitro and HPA is ALWAYS a gas and will therefore not destroy those rings.

Now, if you have an expantion chamber, it will eliminate the liquid Co2-in-gun problem, but nothing can help the loss of FPS due to cooling.

thank guys i just don't want to waste my cash because i'm a poor son of a **edited**. not worried about getting shoot with nitro cause my cousin shot me it dosen't hurt me at all. i think co2 hurts a whole hell alot more.

like evry1 sed it depends on the fps and stuff. and i still say the photos on this page contain idiots

And CO2 can rust the insides of your gun. Really, it can. Cold air causes water vapor to condense. Look inside you barrel after shooting a bunch in a game- you'll notice wet stuff on the inside. I wonder what that could be?? An expansion chamber stops liquid from getting in, but that doesn't stop CO2 from being cold.

Plus, 300 fps = 300 fps

mass * velocity (squared) = force

A 3 gram paintball hits the same at 280 fps no matter what gas threw it.
