Ok im at a field in maine and some old guy comes up to me and sees me playing in a tee shirt and jeans and says
"Oh i guess you think your tough sh** playing in that?"

later on i was playing with my younger cousins and they had a friend with them, i shot the friend in a game like 2 times and he started crying.  so the rest of the kids thought it must hurt too much and didnt want to play anymore.

i dont know about the rest of you but getting hit doesnt bother me at all, i have yet to be hit in the balls though.  I dont understand why some people feel the need to ask people "oh how bad is it , im scared" or wear a 2nd layer.  When im playing paintball especially in the summer i sweat like crazy and dont need to be wearing 2 sweatshirts.

what do you guys think?

I know what you mean, right now I am trying to get people to come play this wednesday, and some of them are like "no, it hurts" so it sucks... they might still come though.

Doesn't bother me...I think that some people weren't made for paintball...some people aren't made for something like..quilting either..It depends on the person. Some people just can't take pain. There's a lot of people that I ask to go paintballin and they're just too worried about it hurting. Especially girls. Lots of girls I know really want to play, but they're afraid of it hurting or getting welts.

Hey!

If you're too big of a pansy to put up with a little sting for a whole 2 seconds...then you need to go back to suckin' on your momma's tata's.

At least that's how I see it.

Bare head shots dont hurt to bad. Your head is pretty padded.

On the rare occasion that I play, I rock teh woodland cammo BDU pants, and a light brown T-shirt... Nice and light, and "airy" (the cloth breathes), if the shirt and pants are baggy paintballs bounce more often, nice and cheap (so when they get trashed, just throw em out), and they camoflauge decently (most woodsball games dont need camo... most are too fast paced...)... plus they look awesomely cool...

The look of BDUs next to a Tippmann (running a 20 oz CO2)... gawd, it's like a work of art...

getting hit with paintballs doesn't bother me, but some kids a couple years younger than me, play with me and my friends sometimes and they surrender sometimes when they don't want to get shot

I play in a Tshirt and Shorts.  I don't care what anybody says.  I always wear a cup because one time at a big game, I got shot in the nuts 2 times without a cup.  I just dropped on my knees and waited 10 minutes for the pain to go away.

I laugh at people who think paintballs hurt...

Seriously, people, it stings for like 4 seconds, then goes away...

The only time i really got hurt, was when this dumba** ran up to my bunker and shot me in the thigh about 5 to 6ft away, I had a mark for two weeks, but I kept playing the rest of the day. Paintball does hurt, like a beesting but you got to suck it up or joke about it with your friends.
Oh yeah and the time I got shot, and the guy hit my mask right where my mouth was, I was spittin out paint all day

I played in shorts once. I never did again because I cut up my knees.

I wear a jersey with the sleeves rolled up so I don't ruin my good shirts.

befor i ever take anyone to the field i take them ot my back yard. I put a hand full of balls in hand them a mask, put my mask on and tell them to walk to the wall and assume the positon (hands on the wall back facing me). I shoot them twice so they get a feel for it, them we switch and i let them shoot 2 at me. we switch again this time having them face me and put one in there chest and leg so they know what that feels like, and we switch and they put two on me. if found that if they take the first two the second two arnt as bad for them and kinda gets them ready for what it might feel like during a game. most the time when im playing the only shots i feel are neck and hand shots.

Head and neck hurt a bit. Inner thigh stings a bit. Everything else isnt bad.

I wear a thin SP Fighter jersey, because indoor in the summer gets way too hot. If you watch any tournament footage, you will see that lots of players wear hoodies under their jerseys, this isnt because it hurts, but because they want bounces.

I began playing in an old pair of green flannel lined warm-ups (kinda like sweats ) and a pair of cargo shorts under that , along with a Tee shirt . I didnt want any solid hits to my family jewels and layering up helps , but it was rather hot after a while , even indoors .

I've got a set of BDU's I play with now (still wear the extra padding under the pants ) and a loose fitting shirt . It stings a bit when I get popped from close up , and I could see how a 9 YO wouldnt think that was so great. Neck shots , inner arm , finger tips , they prolly get my attention most of all .

Gotta give the girls kudo's for not wanting to sport bruises on their bods tho , somehow they dont think thats Sekksy , tell'em to wear extra protection (padding) . I dont know how many times my wife has been shot in the Arse by her own team-mates , never bruised yet thank goodness ,, but still ,, guys , your paint will tend to go where your looking , and you're sposed to be looking at the opposing team , Jeesh !!

It's called bunkering.  I do it every time I play speedball.  You should to.

yeah, it doesnt hurt that bad.  when i play i just wear a tee shirt and pants which are not all that baggy.  i do need to get knee pads though because the first time i played on an airball cource i slid ALOT and by teh end of the day my knees hurt worse then any of the places i got hit (i rubbed the skin off of them).  when i first started playing like 3 or 4 years ago though..... lol..... i would wear like 2 shirts, a hoodie, and 2 pairs of pants, now i cant even immagine how i wore so much clothing.  i think alot of it nowdays about the kids not wanting to get hurt is because instead of riding a bike or skateboard and falling off and fealing pain on an almost regularly basis, they play video games and watch tv all day and let me be the first to tell you, the only thing it hurts when you get shot on a game is your ego.

~additionial added thought~ Realy now, how much does one extra little piece of thin cloth help?

Yeah, im l33t. no way around my awsomeness.
