JT nvader.  in your sig it says tippman 68.  You mean a tippmann 98 custom right?  If you didnt know that, then your not ready for  a new gun.

yea if your saving for an a-5 then save for it and buy a mask later...sounds like you need a better gun before you need a better mask lol.

good luck!

Theres nothin wrong wit havin and usin an old Tippmann SL-68, actuallly I wish I had one, it would make a great back up fer woodsball....but, back to the topic....get the JT headshield, recieving a ball hit on the noggin is not a very good feeling and it sure beats wearin a rag or a cap on a hot sunny day on the field and its really affordable.

There's something wrong with this one at least.  The barrel is kind of small, so I don't get good FPS, the barrel is short for a semi, so I don't get good accuracy, the loader tube is, has, a mind of its own, sometimes it loads fast, sometimes it loads slow, sometimes you have to shake it just to get it to load one, and the hopper holds less than 50 rounds at a time, and the gun won't take a standard viewloader 200.  (I have one, and I wish I could use it.)

Yowch!

I understand what yer sayin but, hold onto the 68, you might wanna mod it to somethin else, Ive seen tons of pics where people have modded their old 68's into somethin that no one would think it would be possible. Infact, Enos Shenk hes one of the Moderators fer the forum has a Pro-Carbine and he can help you on yer 68.

I had a headshield, it was pretty good.  I went and got a Dye Proto Switch for 30 on ebay though.

The lenses were getting scratched on the JTs, and I couldn't really get them out.

I recommend V-Force to anyone looking to buy a new mask. I currently have JT Spectras. A great, comfortable mask, but if I were buying a new mask tomorrow, it would be a V-Force. Hands down.

I could be wrong, but I don't know of any lens scratch remover that is approved for paintball use. Scratch removers may weaken the lense. If your lenses are scratched, shell out the $20 for a new lense. Safety is too important.

Head Shield looks kind of funny, if I were you, I would just wear a hat backwards instead, it makes the NVader more comfortable, and you don't have to look so stupid.

i just spent $90 out of my timmy funds to upgrade from my crappy scott mask that came from my tippmann to a Vforce Profiler. its a very nice mask. i see that u only want to spend around $30 but if i were u i would either get the nVader, save $20 more and get a flex7 or a proflex, or save $60 more and get an invision or a profiler. good luck

Fans as in, like, the kind of cooling fans you would find in a computer only designed for a mask?  How loud is it?  How long does it run on one battery charge?

in my p8nt mag, there is an advertisment for a proto switch turbine fan,so they're are fans that yuo can use in your mask.
as for what mask to get i say get the headsheild if your pride or dignity won't be hurt to much.

Go ahead, say I'm ignorant: What's the difference between a thermal and a non-thermal mask?

I'd say go with the JT Spectras with the thermal lense. Those cost about 35 dollars online. Great mask, been using it for a 1 1/2 years now.

man SAFTEY IS NUMBER ONE!!! get a half way decent mask for 40-50 bucks that wont fog up at all!! i just got my jt spectra yesterday and they dont fog up AT ALL!!! the padding is extremely comfortable and they fit very nicely. like mcknight said you can pick these up for about 35 bucks +shipping. if you dont buy the spectras get something with a thermal lens. nothing that sais fog proof or fog resistent or something like that. just get a thermal lens goggle (jt specta)

headshields are not that great.  trust me i own one and it fogs up quickly because the air has no wear to go.  it is hard to put on and take off.  Oh and if you have glasses more than likely you wont be able to wear them when you wear the mask.

did i mention you look slightly like a sissy whoes afraid of getting hit?

OK.  Despite the direction the polls are going, I think I'll go NVader, mostly because of the "it's foggy, uncomfy, and sissy-looking" remarks
