every carbonated beverage is a coke.

Long Live Sweet Tea!!!

In south carolina that sweet tea was awesome, but here in california if you ask for a sweet tea, they give you lipton with 2 equals. LOL . The only place i can get sweet tea is in orange county (where i live) at Chic Fil a...pretty good stuff.

Never heard anyone call it anything other than soda in Cali. If you called it pop here you would probably be made fun of for being such a tard.

soda > pop.

In the South, it's Coke regardless of what brand or flavor it is. And that's not just part of a comedy routine, it's true...

I live in Alabama, and it's nothing but Coke. If you call it something else, no one has a clue what you are talking about.

Dude #1 says "Gimme me a Coke."

And the person replies "Wanna a Sprite or a Dr. Pepper?"

The dude #1 "Sprite."

I guess it's just a southern thing. The word 'Coke' is universal.

Who freaking cares what the crap is called in general. calling it pop doesnt make it taste any different then calling it soda, and it doesnt change the craps appearence.

in md, its soda

but

if it's like pepsi vs coke, you say coke. in a restaurant, if you want either pepsi or coke (whichever they serve) you ask for "Coke" if you want rootbeer, its "Rootbeer" You wouldn't order "Pepsi" expecting pepsi or coke. You order "coke". Its like the south but a little less strict.

err...yes, most people who want pepsi, do in fact ask for said pepsi, not coke. You kind confused me...although asking for rootbeer, and gettign rootbeer, does make a fair bit of sense...

Let's make it simple, and ask for the exact drink you want, ehh?

i was born in TX and there it's call coke, any carbonated beverage is a coke.

person 1: What kinda cokes you got here

person 2: Coke Sprite Mr. Pibb Mellow yellow.

person 1: i'll have a coke.

the first time it's generic but the second time it means Coca-Cola.

Oh please... This is more of a cultural analysis than a study on the "correct" term for carbonated corn syrup-based beverages.

You and Enos need to get a life... or lives, whichever you prefer.

If you go to a restauraunt, and you want the standard, non-flavored drink (i.e. Pepsi and Coke) then you'd ask for a "coke". You would not ask for a "Pepsi"
