Subject: Tippmann`s mistake

my friend i paintball with ordered an A-5 about a week ago, just one.  Needless to say he was surprised when he saw 2 boxes from tippmann on the shipment day.  He opened them both and discovered 2 A-5`s.  The next day he went to the bank to see if they charged him for 2 but they only charged him for one.  So he got 2 A-5s for $220, i bought one of them for $110 to split the difference, so i guess it worked out for me.  This mis-order is a strange occurance what was tippmann thinking?!

hopefuly they dont realize what theyve done, but my logic is if theyre stupid enough to make the mistake, theyre not smart enought to notice it.

GG.

Everyone makes mistakes, even big companies. You don't have to gloat over it, it happens. Enjoy your freebie, but don't be an ass.

Legal form of stealing? Interesting.

Okay, let's say that you and I work out a deal. I'm going to pay you 20 bucks for some spare M98 parts that you don't need anymore.

I send you the $20, and you accidentally throw in not only the parts I was looking for, but you also place an autococker in the box.

Oops. Your mistake.

Man, of course not. If you got a free pb gun on your doorstep, you would keep it too. Giveing away ONE a5 isn't going to bankrupt a big company like that, lol.

but anyway, sit back and enjoy your free gun.

I can honestly say that I'd send it back. I can only use one marker at a time, plus, there's something of a principal involved here. But I suppose that never occured to anyone either.

I ordered like $150 of stuff for this other thing I used to do. I recieved two instead of one, and I sent it back. The guy sent me a $45 thing free.

Literally speaking, yes I know that doesn't make sense, but if you think about it, it could make some sense.

It would be like going to a grocery store and taking two bags of chips (awesome example) when the cashier only charged you for one. After looking at the receipt, you realize his/ her error, yet decide that it was their loss and do nothing to correct it. That, in a certain perspective, could be considered stealing since you took more than what you payed for.

There is always other perspectives, however, such as they "gave" you an extra bag of chips, but I like my perspective better .

I’m not necessarily saying that you did an actual crime by intentionally going there and taking two, while paying for one A5, but you stole by not giving back what wasn’t yours to receive.

If I was in your position, I would have notified them by informing of their error, and give it back to them, unless they tried to make me pay for the shipping, in which case then I would keep it .

If it were to be stealing his friend would be the one in trouble cuz he paid for it, I guess it would be "possession of a stolen object"

There are a ton of dishonest people on here. Think about it the other way around.

You guy a shocker on eBay, you send the money, the guy doesn't send the gun. Everyone says, "OMG, what and idiot!!! Lets get his IP and haxor him to death."

Its no different, just the bad thing happened to you and now you don't feel real happy. Funny how when a "deal" works to your advantage you don't care about someones loss.

he probaly wouldnt get introuble because it was the companys fault. my friend joey never got his pro/carb when the a5 came so he just kept the a5 and he never got into any trouble.

^^^me too.  heh.  just polished the internals.  there goes the waaranty, and besides theres no written agreement in the matter so if my friend should get called down he`ll be the one in hot water.  but hes not going to get in trouble.  so....i think its best if we as a community of responsibe and mature paintballers, let this drawn-out and once innocent thread, finaly die.  peace out holmes.
