i need to know where i can find 2 skateboard decks preferably under $10 each. ok, heres the story, my friend has this gigantic hill by his house and last year i used 1 deck to slide down it when it sniwed, but of coarse i couldnt prevent cloths hanging off and producing drag. So, i want to use 3 decks, 2 in back and 1 in front and mak the front one turnable so we can steer. Also, we plan to just use the decks as the "runners" I guess you could call them, to touch the snow, then we plane to use wood for the rest of it, also, my friends dad has a welder and some metal so metal is another option, also we plan to make the front pivot up and down so it will form to the shape of the slope distribute the weight the pressure out over a larger area. Also, we plan to make this lockable in 3 different positions so it can jump good, and also another position will make it go slower. Opinions appreciated. Thanks for the time.

That seems like a very very bad idea.
I see serious injury in the future, good luck to you

i dont think plain wood would be very slick in snow, so....... also, keep in mind this is in the snow so there is a small chance i will get hurt, also, last year we went down them and i accudentally went down backwards, hit the jumo, and flip over twice backward while tumbling don the hill, it didnt really hurt

For your steering board, fasten two or more strips of metal longways to give you more control.

Walmart also sells steerable sleds that are specifically designed for this purpose. using metal, wood and skateboard decks isnt really up there on the 'brilliant' list.
Pardon me if I sound like an old man, but I had my girlfriend break 2 vertabrae in her back on a snowtube.....so a homemade contraption like this one doesnt strike me as particularly ingenious.
