Do any of you think if would be cool if they had paintball in it. I
mean they have ping pong and baddmitton and trampoline.... Like a
standard speedball eliminations series.

It's been suggested, and usually it ends up in a debate whether we want more recognition, meaning more n00b idiots that joined the sport for all the wrong reasons, or if we want to keep it how it is.

It would probably end up being the most expensive event in the Olympics
and that could be a problem but then theres another problem on who they
should choose for the team members.

It wouldnt work, heres why:
- It requires the approval of some 200 (I think) nations to become
an olympic event. Probably no more than 10 nation are active in
paintball.
- There are no international rules for it. Countries play it differntly then others.
- There are 3 types of paintball, which would be in the
olympics? If you say woodsball, how are they going to ref
it? If you say speedball, how will they standerdize the guns so
play is fair and requires fast thinking rather than a fast
finger? And scenario(sp) play wouldnt work.
The only possible way it would work is if it was stock play. That
way each player has the same amount of ammo, and the setup of the guns
would be more uniform, but still, it would need approval and new rules. It wont happen anytime soon.

Well, I hope so, and it wouldn't be anything greater to overcome than other sports being added. I mean, god, they have at least 20 different swimming events with more planned in the next olympics. It's not like they'd have trouble finding room or players.
The only drawback I can see is that I don't know how many other countries could be represented.

Yeah you have a point it sorta would be quite fair... And there probably isnt a lot of countries out there that participate.

well it would be an airball setup maeks most sense for me if it was xball and they'd pick teams justl ike basketball and to those who say hte gun issue isn't fair since when has that ever been a problem for a tourney before and their are more than ten countries that play pball even iran has an indoor field

It would be awesome for paintball to become an Olympic sport, but the drawbacks have already been discussed...
I think paintball has a much better chance of getting into the X-Games than anything else. It would have to be X-Ball or some other form of speedball where people could watch it. But paintball would probably fit in perfectly with the X-Games.

If CURLING can be an Olympic sport, than anything can...
Unfortunately, as people have said before, it probably wno't happen for the same reason it's not a largely televised sport: it's too hard to follow all the action at once. From a distance, all you see are people kneeling down, occasionally moving, and maybe some gas plumes.

I don't understand why everybody is like "Paintball isn't really a spectator sport." Have you ever been to the IAO or any other NPPL event? They've had the World Cup on TV, so there shouldn't be any reason why somebody can't see it.
The teams are fantastic. There's action the entire time. I think teams like Dynasty and the Ton-Tons would be favorites at the X Games.

Well paintball is getting populare very fast you have go to admit that but it is on ESPN on 10-or-11 at night. So if it's on TV there minght be hope that it could make it to the x-games. has anyone watched the olympics badmitting that is so freaking stupid (no offence) but then the players are like its so hard and all that crap, i for one think it should be on the olympics. because some of these games in the olympics are full of really and hey i luv that B-S meter where did you get that??? tell me so i can send it to Kobe Bryant, Wacko Jako and John Kerry, and Bush.
