I just tried it, and I think I might just keep it this way...

It's nothing to new, but Iv never seen it posted. I took the stock, SHORT trigger spring out of my A-5 (I'm sure this would also work for both 98s) and replaced it with a spring I found in stander pin. I cute it down to size (making sure it was 1 or 2 rivets longer than the stock spring) and put it in the place of the of the stock SHORT trigger spring.

My trigger pull is SO MUCH LIGHTER, and the trigger still returns with more than enough time for the next pull.

If you have a double trigger, this will help even more-so.

Just so you know this CAN NOT cause any harm to your gun, but make sure it is only the SHOT trigger spring you change. I can't tell you what would happen if you where to mess with the LONG trigger spring, if you change either of them it cold cause damage to the sear and rear bolt.

just take out the stock spring and dont replace it.. you dont need it the trigger will still reset fine and the pull will be lighter.

You need to have co2 in your gun if you don't have a spring in it though

A clciky pen spring works.... and the difference is almost negliable.  want a real nice trigger pull?
Polish the hell out of the sear,
paint thinner in both sides of the receiver and polish the trigger assembly.
polish all trigger pins
DO AT OWN RISK: shave a TINY bit from the top of the sear.
get a double trigger, shave off the middle bumb, and add atrigger stop.

It actualy does very little once the gun is aired up and all. The sear spring has a lot to do with it also.

so does it it shorten the pull or not, anlso benttwig33 says if you use the clicky pen spring mod + his own mod (replace sear spring with 3-4 dental rubberbands/ruberbands for braces) you get a really light pull and sum fast shooting

Now cut a piece of a q-tip to I think 6mm and put it inside of the spring you made for a trigger stop ( you might have to play around with it a bit to get it the right length. after you do that get some electrical or duct tape and put it on the top of the trigger over where your new spring and stop are, just mess with it for a while to see how many layers you need.

TO GET THE LIGHTEST TRIGGER PULL:

1) do what rave said with the q-tip mod and have it stop the trigger right when it fires or like a split second after it.

2) glue a pre-travel trigger stop(cut out a square from a plastic cd case) on the edge/front of the trigger so there isnt as much pre-travel slop

3) if you do the above then you'll probly have to do what i did (cuz the pre-travel stop makes it so the gun's sear doesnt reset) and take the pin the sear is resting on and put tape around it or something so its bigger and will reset once fired

4) take a straw and cut it to about half the length the last pin in the trigger (in the upper right corner of the trigger) and wrap the straw around the pin then place the trigger back over it(this will help with trigger slop)

5) now get a #30 drill bit (im not sure the exact size but this mod is on model98.net) and cut the bottom off to the length of the pin right in the middle-top of the trigger and replace the pin with the drill bit peice.(this will help with trigger slop)

6) finally get a mad man's spring kit and put the lightest back spring in (i think its the blue one)

all of these combined(if done right) will give you a pretty light trigger pull! right now im tryn' to make it lighter by testing out different springs for the sear trigger; reducing the actual pull weight of the trigger.

p.s. if you want pics pm me and ill send you some.
