^^My friend wear some of his dad's old kevlar. That stuff is awesome. He doesnt feel any chest or back shots. I played with one guy that wore umpire armor and we shot him point blank in the chest and he didnt feel it. Just go with double or triple layers.

Doesn't wearing body armor ensure that the ball breaks?  I don't know about other fields, but where I play.. if the ball doesn't break, it doesn't count.

I've had all sorts of balls bounce off my torso.

Yeah, it does hurt to get hit, but only for a while.. the place that has hurt the longest on me was when I got shot in the buttocks.. but I don't have much layering there.  Undies, black pants and my mini skirt.

Body armor is only used fer those who cant bare the pain of a paintball striking any part of the body and if yer thinkin bout usin it in a speedball tournament ferget it!....theyre considered illegal to use  and in woodsball, body armor would jus slow you down and make you look more like a wuss, the only things that you need to protect is yer head, nuts, knees and elbows....personally fer myself I only need the mask and the knee pads.

Yeah, but don't some schools ask about bruises and what not?  I know the schools I went to.. if you can with bruises all over, then they'd call home and find out what was going on.

One of my friends used a military flack Jacket after he cracked his ribs in an accident. A shot to the ribs would bring him to tears but he didn’t want to have any absences from playing the game. We usually play woods ball scenario games and so its colors work well. I wouldn’t use one regularly for normal play besides “Pain is temporary, Chicks dig scars and Glory is forever” (I forget who said this)

Body armor in my opinion will ruin the game, because it isn't as much of a rush when you hear 30 rounds shot in about 3 seconds shot at you and you don't expect pain.  I reccomend not getting it in general, instead save money and work on your 98 custom.

Exactly. What is the difference between laser tag and paintball. A rush...

I have a custom polyester pullover (fake fleece) in a faded sage green that fits well with most woodlands, but was short in the arms. I had taken an old camouflage jacket, cut off the arms and sewed them on so the arms would actually be long enough.  So now, the arms are long and a little baggy (but not much). I also sewed the pockets for the jacket onto the pullover, and took the collar from the mil jacket and sewed it onto the flece collar making it a lot taller (to protect my neck and such). Polyester I have found to work great for paintball, I often get bounces off my torso because the material is so soft. Also, it makes you nice and warm during the winter, but usually do fine in up until you get past 90 degree weather.

You can also get camouflage anything really cheap at a military surplus store.

If you really want body armor, and on a budget, make your own. Pizza Box Body armor is popular in the woods where I play, but I personaly rarely use it. I just make it for people. You can use string to tie it together to make a vest, or even use duct tape. It will absorb some of the impact, but is light and thin. If you make it the right way, mobility is also not restricted much. Pizza Box Body Armor is the way to go if you really want some protection. Plus, you get to eat some pizza too.

ive worn a long sleeve shirt and it didnt hurt too bad. just wear a sweatshirt. it depends on how big built you are and how you handle pain. im really small but i handle pain pretty well. so i'd say just wear a sweatshirt and if you want more get another sweatshirt. that should be good. are you playing woodsball? i bet you are.

i dont know why all these people wear thick vests or heavy steaters cause it takes all the fun out of paintball if you do that. I jus wear a old thin long sleeve shirt that will cover my arms.yall r panzies if u wear armorits not like your gonna die if u get shot

it really doesent hurt that much. the less you wear the less it hurts because when your cloths are baggyer it absorbs it. if you have alot of armor you wont know when you get hit and youll be called a cheater.

I'll say it again...wearin Paintball Body Armor would jus make you look more like a "wuss".

If one cant stand the pain when gettin hit by a paintball, then sell yer marker on ebay and play checkers.

Half the fun is getting bruises too.  Battle wounds!

My Fox Racing short sleeve dark blue shirt, blue jean cargo pants and Adidas are all i wear for armor lol, plus a mask. I think armor is jus stupid and anyone that wears it shouldnt play ( or get rid of the armor and take a hit like a man or woman)...

the one thing worse that I've seen than body armor is that FieldArmor stuff. The full out padded suit that protects you from head to toe...there's no point to it. half the fun on paintball is getting hit. They do make suits for refs which i DO think is a good idea...

The most effective thing is to SUCK IT UP!!!!! this is paintball it might hurt but meh, suck it up, you wear body armor and you deserve to be bunkered many times i wear a dye 2003 core jersey and a shirt underneath it, yes sometimes it hurts but i have a hella good time

and its kool cause you have welts all over you and if someone asks what its from you reply with "I play paintball"

You can wear whatever you want. Play a game without body armor, if it hurts to much for you, put on the armor.  Dont do something because people on online forums say so.
