I said its too late because I'm a moron. ok so back to the case. I use a guitar case because I hate trying to explain to other people in my apartment building what I'm doing with a gun and then trying to explain paintball before reaching the lobby. also, the case has a nice spot for a lock and it's damn sexy to pull out in the parking lot of my field (people think I know what I'm doing). finally, in a scenario game you can use the case as a carry along shield if you reinforce the outside with duct tape (and clear it with the refs)
1) buy a big spanish guitar case (hard shell, no gig bags)
2) cut the styrophome the gun comes in so you have the full outline of the gun and tank (try to leave thick walls but you can use black duct tape to reinforce the walls)
3) open guitar case
4) your case should have a sort of short wall in the case between the body and neck, remove any other walls (such as internal comparments)
5) put the gun shaped styrophome in the body and tack it into the case (although I don't tack mine it might make you feel mre comfortable throwing the case around in a car or something) place the tank section into the neck. secure this too (try messing around with duct tape).
6) if you dump the crappy barrel and have a longer one you need to cut the aprox. .5 inch section of styrophome where the gun shell ends
7) by now, the gun will be in but can move freely so you need to put the hopper into the empty space under the barrel which will fit snugly enough to prevent rattling.
8) on the side nearest to you you can fit at least two (probably three) tubes loaded with paint or another air tank.
9) there should be enough room above the air tank in the neck (at the head of the case) to safely carry a few grenades (you might consider securing the pins in the name of common sense)
10) use the rest of the room to easily store whatever else you need
this is the basic setup and can be played with until you find your favorite configuration. I know these are pretty vauge instructions however this should be something you can call your own so play with it all you want. Finally, if anyone has another interseting case idea I'd love to hear it
