Well as many of you know the last creation died in a firey blaze, but I started a new one, called The Razorback which will be explained when you see the pictures.
It's coming together nicely now.
I finished up the topcocking so it is fully functional.
I recessed the inline Palmer Stabalizer into the body so I can screw it directly into the CVX valve. It also locks the reg in place so I don't have to worry about too much stress on the valve.
There are only a few things left to do now:
1. Vert feed
2. Quick strip body cutting
3. Plate to cover left cocking slot and lock the quick strip halves together
4. Bondo in a few areas
5. Paint
Needless to say I have almost forgotten about the old body and feel much better about this one.

Too bad, the flame drop has been modified to balance my gun just the way I want it. Plus it has the rail on it for my rail on/off and I already paid for it so im not getting another one.
What I may do is mill the flames down to match in with the spines on the body.

i dont like the trigger, the no front grip thing, the milled velocity screw area, and the flame drop.
i do like the razor back thing bcause it looks cool and i can see the linking rod, the milled rear site and letters and the top cock even though it is red.
what colors are you gonna paint it? please no spots this time. also like someone else asked, do you just buy 98 customs to chop up and make some art with them? i wish i had the money to do that.

looks nice so far, what do u have the trigger pull at? the razorback milling is very original. the only thing wrong cosmeticaly, is the overall length, but to solve that problem would take a lot of time to totaly overhaul the recievers and internals. once u piant the beast im sure it will look much better. keep up the good work.

get "RazorBack" Engraved on it in nice slanted block letters. Then cover that up with appoxy, paint the rest, and then take it out... so you got silver Razorback said on it.

Are you not going LP with this one? Doesn't look like there's much room for a LP chamber.
And I see you finally got a new trigger stop.

I think im gonna like this one a little more than the last one... If i
may throw a suggestion at you, The milling looks sweet, but up in front
where you took off the front grip what if you were to take more of that
off, and instead of that part hanging down you were to take all of that
off up to the reg, or make it swoop down to the reg, then bondo
all of the bottom, i dont know just a thought.

I liked the other one. It had better milling and the name was more creative (I'm intrigued with all things German). People who mocked the German name need to open up to culture a little more. Plus, you just stole the name from a gun that already exists. The Razorback was a pump back in the early 90's. A good one too. I like the look of this one but I liked the older one's styling better. It's too bad the other one was lost. It was way more original looking. This is creative as well but the other was the epitome of a milled Tippmann. In fact, I think the original "Luftgewehr" was the best milled Tippmann ever. People who think it was ugly have no imagination. Whatever though, I hope you have fun with all your projects. That is the point after all. Rock on...

Hmmm
I like this milling alot but do not like the front foregrip area how it is milled. The top where the linkage arm runs through was done amazingly.
What are your plans for that area?
Goodjob so far man and sorry about Luftgewehr.

Warbeak, you may have like the old one better, but I can say without a doubt the new one will be far superior.
It's already 2 lbs lighter, it's still low pressure, and it still has the ridiculously short trigger pull. Plus the reg is much stronger with a whole lot less distance for the air to travel.
I am really excited to see how this shoots when I get the vert feed in there.

that just makes the gun look like a low qualit brass eagle style gun the reg is to close to the trigger

Find me a Brass Eagle that looks like that.
And the reg is just about as close to the trigger as a Shocker.

The reg being closer to the trigger is good. It allows you to play tighter.

Got that right lol. You probably have one of the fastest mech 98C's, but people wouldnt take it if it didnt look nice... I would though .
Just wondering what do you plan on doing in the foregrip area?
Any other plans you have in mind?
-------------
|
Posted By: SnakeEyes
Date Posted: 28 August 2004 at 1:06pm
For the foregrip area I may try milling it to look like the top of the gun.
I am going to have to do some sketches and CADs for it before I just jump into cutting stuff up. I like the body right now, and I am not sure if I want to change it.
I do think I need a shorter front for the Freak though. With the front grip removed it's basically like having an 18" barrel. I think its just a bit too long. So if I got the 10" All American front I would again have a 14" barrel length gun.

That made me cry when I saw the reg right next to the tirgger (good, it
fits superbly into the gun) and there was all that extra room at the
front, won't it be front heavy with the hopper infront of the front
grip? Anyways keep up the good work, can I suggest a gunmetal to
black fade?

The design is already back heavy, and when I put a shorter barrel on there it will be even more so. I am not too worried about the balance of the gun.
Ashran wrote:

You can, but that doesn't mean I will entertain it.

The lean of the trigger was done on purpose. With my drop and how I hold the gun it is at the perfect angle to allow my fore and middle fingers to have the same angle and pull distance.

sounds liek uve had better luck with ur triigger mods than me, i got the pull to 1.9mm and could walk it with relative ease, but later that day i shot it again and it was miscocking and double feeding like crazy. looks like im back to square one, as for the length problem, like i suggested earlier you could recalibrate and mill the external and internals to make the entire operation of the gun more compact, but with much time and effort, perhaps too much. but if u get a relativly short barrel it should look that bad. keep us posted.

I just realized I don't have all the pictures in here that I wanted to.
Those are the old images of how the top cocking mechanism works.
Unfortunatly the cable I use to connect my cell phone/camera to my computer has crapped out, so I cannot upload any new images.
I felt sad that this got burried so deep in the forums, mostly thanks to that nub indrul1.x and his constant reviving/spamming of dead threads. Stupid nubs.

No, I have different plans for the side slot and I believe that I have to reinstall the safety so I can play within the NPPL/NCPA rules.

Yeah, the top cocking was fun to figure out and see work properly. It completly changed the gun's dynamic feel. No longer seeing that cocking rod sticking out off the side or having the bulge of the rocket cock is really nice. No chance of having the cocking knob striking the goggles either. My buddy had his lens cracked by that rob bouncing back.
