In my opinion,I know everyone has one,the flatline barrel is a waste of time and money.Had I known all the hype was just an empty balloon,I would have bought the smart parts 14" barrel and saved money doing it.My a-5 has been put through the paces with those as well as the stock barrel. To anyone who reads this I hope they heed this.

If you want to know the truth, my Dye Boomstick was a waste of money. My flatline does exactly what the ads said it would do, it wasn't cheap, but for money vs performance, it's better than the Boomstick.

I owned a flatline, it was great when I did use it how ever the course's (with the exception of one) is to small and it just wasnt as accurate as my other barrel, so i traded it for elbow & knee pad's, and a redz 4+3 w/ pods. I think it was a good trade.

This is as bad as going into a Smart Parts forum and saying the Freak Kit sucks.

I love my Flatlines, and my opponents hate them!

I love the feeling of gogging a guy while his paint rolls up to my feet!

I have a Dye Boomstick, but only because it came with the E-bolt 98 I just picked up.

I don't understand um.  Some hate, some don't, it makes me think they perform differently out of the box.  A friend bought one for his gun and we all agreed, it was the most inaccurate peice of crap we had ever seen, not to mention I stood in a field 150 feet away and watched paintballs bounce off my chest (it took 14 shots for him to finally hit me.)

Just for the speculators we tried it on another tippmann, and it sucked again.  This happened after a field owner told us not to get the crap anyway.

But, I guess some of them work, and to our tinkering ability we never got it to.

Bad Paint? I have two friends who are a-5 flatline owners and they perform awesome under the right conditions.

Ok first I though this was a thoughs and OPINION thread and i know this is going to be hard to prove because im doing it at the makers website, but i did have an a5 and it did suck at speed ball and i dont care if you have a e-trigger or not your not alowed full auto on a feild.  I personaly if i had to choose it would be the r/t. and you know what your buddies bud doesnt have anything to do with this, and i do suck and you know what, im not playing agianst dynasty now, i play at my local feild, and i had had the a5 and it does suck balls at speedball its a great at woodsball but not at speedball. You have to be jokeing, i love my imp and i will never go back to an a5 for speedball you know why? the front of the hopper and the cyclone feed absoluly scream hit me, and for the shroud around the barrel, do you know how many times ive seen people get hit there? alot. so you know what i will not back down the a5 suck at speedball its heavy, air hog (i dont care what you say about it) and its wide. plus you cant even stri[ it down with out an allen key. believe me if there could be a contest agianst oh lets say A5 and imps and the guys were somehow all the same in everyway, the impy would own all.

you got jipped

if you saw the condition of the flatline you'd probley thing it was about right plus the owner (I traded it to a field) gave me free Air and field fee. so its basicly $140 for the heavily used flatline (i bought it used for $40).

You do realize that the A5 hopper actually sits lower and tighter in then other guns right...

its not lower than a warp, or more in than a vert feed..., also, its not lower or more in than the Qloader

I dont think the flatline is not very good, my firned has one and he pretends to like it because he paid so much, but we all nkow he doesnt. Flatline is good for woods, not speedball. My opinion.

I am kinda tired of everythione dissing the A-5.... look since the A-5 feeder sits at the same height of the gun and if you got shot in the feeder from the side on the A-5 don't blame it on the feeder if it was like a nomal feeder it would hit the gun.  If you got shot at from the front in the feeder also don't blame it because if it wasn't there you would get hit in the chest....Think about it>

I'll stand behind my flatlines before any other barrel....it's funny to shoot at someone from a long way out and make them look around like "Where did THAT come from?"

It's so hilarious to hear the misconceptions and general bull that gets spread artound the barnyard about the Flatline.

No other barrel has touched my 98's (save the new E-Bolt, which came with a Boomstick included) but the Flatline since they hit the market in 1999.

You hear the bull about "it ain't not no good for speedball", and I just laugh. I have played a ton of speedball with a Flatline on my 98 and with my A-5, and I have found it to be just as effective on a speedball course.

It makes hopper-hunting and taking advantage of bunker openings a cinch.

If you don't like the Flatline, that's cool ... it just makes you all that much more vulnerable to people like me.

But don't spread misinformation because "your buddy's cousins' pal said so" or you just couldn't handle the installation.

I love the looks on peoples' faces when they realize they got drilled on a speedball field with a Flatline-equipped Tippmann.

Kinda makes that $1400 investment ring hollow ...
