Go with the 98c set. They are durable, reliable, and fully upgradable.

98c....definetly....dont get a longer barrel than 14' tho cause it doesn't really do that much.

P.S. this is the wrong area i think....you should post these in the Which Gun is Best forum...but other than that, welcome to the forum.

98c w/flatline is great for woodsball. if you do get it thought I suggest also getting the metal shroud to make it more durable

Get a 98C, and if you get a flatline, get a metal shroud. A friend dropped his flatline and the plastic shroud broke, so then he put the barrel on without the shroud... he looked like an idiot.

If you get any other barrel, dont go over 16in cause your just wasting time, money, and air...

if you like the distance of a flatline get an A-5 with one they are easier to clear   install and are shorter  but the 98c flatline is very good when installed correctly

98c. A friend of mine has a flatline and he didn't really like it. It's up to you, though. If you get another type of barrel don't go over 16in. It's a waste.

the only reason i choose the 98 is because u need
differnt stuff for the a-5. like lose the halo cause ur
never going to use that and get a e-grip. than ur set

*edit*get a better barrel mabey a flatline. or
something eles. and keep the stock

As it was said many times before, the A5 and the 98c are both very durable and reliable markers, both are upgradable and jus to give you a tasty lil info....someone has already installed the Q-loader to an A5 by removing the Cyclone and modding a 98c elbow feed to it.

this and a red dote sight, would be a pretty much perfect woodsball set up, only 2 things, #1 get a sniper stock, the car stocks are poop, #2 a reg or x-chamber will also be a big help

get an A-5 with a dye titanium 14" then get a e-grip and some nitro and a remote. That is of course if money isnt a probalem. and if you dont want the dye then get the flatline. get a double trigger too. and make sure you get a good mask. I suggest the profiler.

There are pros and cons to both guns. First, the 98 Custom:PRO-1)totally upgradable. You can make that thing look any way you want and set it up to your preference. 2) Small size 3) Easy to clean and maintain(I could teach a chimp to take care of a 98!) 4)Flatline barrel!

CONS-1) Unless you buy a good drop forward, a flatline on the gun makes it soooo long. If you're swinging this thing around from target to target in a dense patch of woods, you're gonna find it difficult. 2) Definitely needs a motorized hopper or you will miss shots during rapid fire. 3)Body is long and makes the player really reach for that non-adjustable front grip. I can't tell you how many youngsters I have seen straining to make that handle work! 4) Almost any aftermarket barrel or part will be a touch more expensive. Tippmann really doesn't mark stuff up too much. If you buy something for $150, your shop owner that you are buying it from paid $150 for it. That has been my experience and yes, I have seen their books!

A-5 PROS-1)Front grip is adjustable and really helps with that mil-sim look. 2) Comes with hopper and it will never, ever outshoot this thing! Chopping is virtually a thing of the past! 3) Flatline is still small and makes gun super manueverable. Easy to put on target when you need it.4) Low kick, quiet when it fires, and very easy to maintain(Just like the 98 C!)

CONS-1)This one needs a drop forward badly. Helps with overall balance of the gun and is just more comfy, but an adaptor is needed to mount one on the bottom of the grip. 2) Hope you like black, cause that is the only color they come in. 98's come in silver and I have seen tons of aftermarket companies that do sweet work on 98 bodies. Not so much is seen on the A-5(If I'm wrong in saying this, I would love for someone to show me something different!) 3) A bit pricey if you add in all of the extras you either need or would like to have to make it just right. 4) Same as #4 above in the 98C Con list.

Either way, you can't go wrong. It's a Tippmann product! They're virtually indestructable! I am still shooting a 15 year old SL-68 II pump and it's awesome! That makes my gun older than some of you here on this forum!! In the end, it all comes down to personal preference. You, and only you, are going to be the one lugging this marker around the field. You want it to work when you need it and you want to be happy with it as well. Looks are sometimes all we have left so you may want to take that into consideration! Take all this info with a grain of salt. The worst thing that can happen with a paintballer is to buy something because a friend recommended it and it turns out that you absolutely hate it! It wasted your money and frustrates you at the field. Nothing worse than that! Good luck with the purchase and let us know which one you get. See ya on the field....

P.S.- That collapsible rear stock is going to interfere with your sighting when you have a mask on. You won't be able to get your face close enough to effectively aim. Just a thought...

Chaos Lord, Lapco makes an adaptor that goes in the bottom of the grip and gives you a place to mount a drop forward. Several other companies do as well, but I can't recall them now. Psycho Ballistics and Ballistic sports make some great drops for the 98C and the A-5. Check those out, but it still comes down to personal preference.
