Having some type of scope on a marker is ok to have but, to have a laser on one is a big no-no, lasers can blind a person and its pointless to have one on a marker as well.

i think that a sight is just an overkill on a paintball gun, really no point, you wont have enough time to look through the scope, and shoots someone.
besides that its my 500th posts!

Hes using his marker fer some woodsball, a scope isnt really overkill, it jus depends on how many is actually playin in a game of woodsball, if theres more than 10 people on each team, then a scope would be useless.
Ok you have 500 posts....heres yer

To be honest, they are both pointless.
Invest in a good sight rail. You can sight your target quickly and it works perfectly with paintball guns.

IF you need anything... get a red dot sight.

he is probably talking about a red dot sight. and that wont blind anyone.
at any rate sights arent any much good anyways. paintballs are to greatly affected by wind and things like that to be completely accurate from one shot to the next. the shots vary to greatly to be able to rely on a sight/scope.

So red dots, scopes, lasers all pointless, get a good site rail like was said.

red dot>scope
and the laser thing, if your playing a milsim or woodsball it is a good, fun thing to have. i
highlydoubt your going to aim for the head most of the time, that is if
your a person with half a brain. the chest area is much larger,
so just dont aim for eyes. yes it gives off slight radiation, but
i highly doubt it will blind you unless it is aimed at your eye at a
close range for a long period of time.

^i doubt he would be using these in speedball, and if you play with
your team right in speedball you can slow the game down to your
speed. you can control, you just have to make the right moves.

In all reality, even a Red Dot or any other aiming device (except yer own eyes) wont work in woodsball and in speedball, the intended target would have to stay still to even get a good shot or several shots....in woodsball and in speedball people are moving constantly, running to one place to another and you all know one of the rules to avoid gettin taken out from a game..."dont sit at one spot fer too long, keep moving"

it does depend on how fast u can see the dot. it
could help me but i rather fire blindly into one spot
and hopes it hits someone

Regardless on how fast you see the Red dot, by that time someone has already seen you and already taking shots at you.
Using yer own eyes is the best aiming device in paintball.

good point. but if it was dark i would put the laser
on. because at my feild we can stay open till
midnight and by that time it would be really usefull to
have a laser on

Using a targeting laser at night and especially in the woods, you would jus be giving out yer position, the opposing team would know exactly where yer at and get you from the side or from behind.

Except that you can't see the beam. Maybe if you were the target and were looking hard enough you'd see it, but definetly not if you're flanking. If he had an A5 w/ flatline would a scope/red-dot work better?

I hate to tell u all this, but I just wanted to know some model names,
not whether or not I should be using one. Also, most people use scopes
to see if what they're looking at from a distance is a tree or a player.

sights & scopes= more of a waste than help in paintball. Paintballs are not accurate like bullets.

Buddy, let me give you a challenge.
Take your scope, strap it on your gun, and, this is the fun part, look
into it. Half the time you can see crap because your mask gets in
the way. Scopes and Paintball dont mix.

i play allot at night i use the nightvision/ infared scope i use for hunting and put it on my marker for night games i won it in a marksmanship contest si i dident spend all that money and lazers are good too and will only blond you after prolonged exposure at close range, so says my optomitrist. as for sights they depent intierly on the corse if you have high round and a defensable position a 2x scope can help allong with a 14-16 in barrel, and good paint. if you cant find a good position a gilli suit allways works good, hide in plain sight that will realy piss people off. when there all out and you stand up not 50 yards away way out in the open.

There are laser sights the fit on the dovetail mount. They're useless during the day because you can't see the little tiny red dot. Scopes are good for looking at locations with a zoomed view- think of it more like really handy binoculars. They're mainly good for woodsball. Red dot sights are decent if you know how to use them. Fiber optic sights are useless. And the sights on the gun don't do much.
lukylouk or whatever- I'd suggest you stop looking at the sun. I have ulcerations in my eyes and if I go outside without dark sunglasses my eyes feel like burning and pain.

i find my new red dot very usefull but dont expect them to be perfect right oiu of the box you are gunna need to spend som time zeroing the sight adn getting used to it. but if you know how to use it right and dont get tunnel vision they are a sound investment. just cary a cloth and som watter paint and optics dont mix!!!
