What in the world do newbs think they are about to do in their first game they must be thinking that we are crazy shooting at each other with approx. 290 fps lol what are some newb stories? I had my dad play and we were playing woods ball and he hid behind a tree and his butt was sticking out the other side lol... and my cousin shot him out or something

Are you asking for common mistakes to look out for?

Sitting in once place for too long.

Tunnel-vision. (Gotta look all around, even behind)

Not working with the team.

That kind of thing?

I would say that the owner of the field I 1st played at is a newb, he was tellin me I was too far upfront and then I got hit, 30 seconds later he got hit....world champion paintballer my butt, he didnt even follow his own advice.

I have seen "newbs" literally run away from approaching players while playing defense. Makes for an angry WUNgUN who they tell to "watch the kiddies" and defend the flag...I swear my Dad-in-law (who is not a newb) still stays stationary too long, but swears he is always on the move....

By the way Clark kent I'm not a noob either its just a lot easier to type this way and if you think the way i type has anything to do with how i play paintball i think you can evaluate your self for being a noob!

my first game we didnt have much gas so i got stuck with a blade (instead of my 98c flatline) and i got smoked every game but that last and i probably would have gotten both team members becuase i had a good gun this time...no matter what any one tells you guns do matter have a dual with a stock 98c and a flatline 98c and are free to go whereever you want...flatline would win you have better renge you could stop shooting paint and blank shot and still win they would run out of paint or give up unless they have very good skills and flank without you noticing then they wont win

the first time my dad ever played woodsball he thought everyone else was out so he just stood there talking to a ref and a 10 yr. old kid (his first time also) lit him up, and hit him 6 times in the stomach/arm

later that same day i saw something that i thought was a disgrace to paintball, we had another nubblet over on the speedball course that couldnt have been more than 12, he had one of those semi-auto winchesters and on the break the kid ran to the back left lay down and just stayed there the whole game and it ended up getting down to just the kid and some big shot, fancy pants, tourney guy with a shocker and the tourney a-hole ran within barrel tagging range of the kid and decided he'd rather shoot at him, so he shot from no more than 5 feet away and missed somehow then started yelling at the kid asking him if he was out and the kid didnt know what was goin on so he didnt answer and the guy moved up a little bit and shot him in the middle of the back and yelled "well you're out now" and the kid walked off the field and you could see he was in alot of pain, everyone else was taking it easy on the kid all day and barrel tagging him and going for gun shots and foot shots and stuff, and thankfully the field owner is really cool and he started calling the tourney guy out even if the paint didnt break on him

hmm...i did that the very first day i played.  I also got shot twice in the neck my first day.  I still have a mark (it's been 3 months).

And one noob move i saw is that three little kids from my own team kept on blind firing into me when i was hiding behind something.

I would have to say the worst habit I’ve seen is not looking before you leap. I played a game on the paintball field at GITMO (Guantonimo Bay Cuba) one of the players there jumped off of a container box and landed on a large metal spike. He had over 127 stitches to close up his leg injury; he nearly nicked the boys too.  It added some realism to the whole scenario but the refs called the game until he was transported off of the field to the ambulance.

Well, 7 newbs, surrendered to 2 people, very sad, if you're too close you have to give them the option to surrender, and they can choose yes or no, no means they turn around and fire back...silly pansy newbies.

Oh, and also, at the same game, people heard noise in a bush, so about 6 people started to fire at the bush, turns out the people in the bush were on their team, about 3 people in the bush, very unhappy.

The newbiest move Ive ever seen at a woodsball field is when I played capture the flag, I saw a kid (a girl and I thought it was a boy at 1st) who was hiding behind the fort near the exit that me and my team was attacking, she kept peekin up and duckin over the edge of a small wall while my team mates were attacking the fort head on, while she kepy peekin up and down I was creepin up from behind her and layed out a barrage towards her, she started freakin out, got up and ran towards the front of the fort and was taken out by my team mates, a few minutes later after I was taken out I saw the same girl in the staging area covered from head to toe in paint.

lol, I actually when i first started playing with my tippmann A-5 and flatline shot myself in the hand from point blank since i have an e-grip and the trigger is so sensative and all. It happened since i got a gun shot and was wiping the paint off my gun and holding it at the same time lol

I don't know how he's doing now, but my cousin had the tunnel-vision problem the 1st time he played, and therefore didn't see the 15-foot-surrender-or-die rule violator 10 feet behind him and took 5 rds to the back of the neck

I'm not surprised.  first time I unscrewed an "empty" tank I was surprised, though not to the point of insanity.  Also some kid at the field I go to wanted me to unscrew his tank 'cause he was scared of it.

Pretty funny though, I'll have to tell my dad.

I remember my first game (I'm still a newbie, I guess, only been
playing since May) My older brother told me to stick with him
and if I needed help to call for him. We were watching the back
side of the castle we were guard, I got in a one on one shoot
out with someone and got him between the eyes (first time ever
shooting a paintball gun) then I turn and two more guys are
coming at me from my right.. so I call for my brother.. it turns out
he was at the bottom of the hill, already out. Yeah, I almost got
another kill that game, but the balls didn't break. I got hit by the
two guys that came from the right.

But I was happy because I got a kill my first game.

Oh yeah, another noob move i fell victim to was when i bought a paintball grenade thinking they would be good.  But that's not the worst part, when i pulled the pin, i forgot to hold the ends of the thing and it "blew up" in my hand and took out myself, my cousin, and some other guy.
