Does anyone have/use an End Game Inc Compression barrel with an A5? Impressions? Is it worth the big money?

Never heard of it... so no. You should ask people, "What is a good barrel for X amount of dollars?" Otherwise, check out the Uber Upgrades Faq at the top of this forum section for info on what barrels are worth the big money as you say.

As someone once told me, in paintball, as in life, you GENERALLY get what you pay for.

It's not the easiest barrel to find. I heard that it was designed for use with Co2, with the internals arranged in a way that would increase gas expansion, thus efficiency. I don't know of anyone who has bought one.

Actually the guy that runs a shop around swears by the Hammerhead, but I can't say I've tried one yet.
Perhaps is does seem a bit gimmicky, but so did the flatline when it first came out.
Who knows, only time will tell.

Yeah, it would be cool to use on a CQB course.
I saw one guy take his stock A5 barrel and hack it off (cuz its basically useless anyway) to the port holes and make a stubby, and another guy play with just the rear of a SP, which was pointless, but funny.

How is the Hammerhead gimmicky? It's a high-end barrel kit. There's nothing gimmicky about it.

Perhaps gimmicy was the wrong word, more like over-hyped? I don't know. Both the Hammerhead and End Game are internally rifled with different types of porting. The Hammerhead with backward-angle muzzle porting, and the End Game with what seems full-length, in addition to the external ported "sleeve." Basically new takes/evolution on the Armson Stealth formula of rifling+porting. Yes, the Hammerhead is a kit (unless you go with the "cheaper" single piece) and the Compression is supposed to be super quiet, but are either $150 set ups that much quieter, or more accurate, than say a $65 Armson for the woods guy?

Guys,
You all have pipes made out of aluminum (for the most part). There is little that a standard pipe, I mean barrel, can do to change the way a paintball will fly through it. All of these companies are trying to sell you on the idea that thier pipe, I mean barrel, is somehow different and therefore better. Get any pipe, I mean barrel, with a shiny bore finish, get some good fresh paint, make sure that your gun is shooting consistently, and play the game. You all are fooling yourselves thinking that the pipe, I mean barrel, on the end of your gun has that much effect on the flight of the paintball.
