There are tons of posts about barrels.  If you have the time (and you should), hit the Search The Forum icon and type in the word barrel.  You'll get more information, polls and opinions than you can shake a stick at.

lapco's better. but get 12 if u want manueverability or 14 for accuracy, its all opinion. and dont get the foregrip- it doesnt help ur performance at all. try out ur new marker a few times before u get anything more so u can make an accurate decision on what u want.

my 32* quiot riot is more acurate than all of my buddys lapco bigshots and the lapco bigshot is supposed to be tippmann guns best friend. i think it is only 35 bucks at actionvillage.com

Ya the ceramic on that site is pretty sick, but i wouldnt get that fore-grip. Just save up a little bit and then you can get a chrome x-chamber.

There is no difference performance-wise between the 12" and 14" barrel.

Found a Lapco Bigshot in Stainless here, but it's pricey.

The only other Lapco barrel I'd recommend would be the Autospirit.  You can find it in stainless.  I had trouble searching for it for the 98, but I did find it with Spyder threads.  If you don't mind using a barrel adapter, this might be your only other alternative.  You'll also have to start using small to medium bore paint with this barrel.

Go with the JJ Ceramic. Better than any 32* and pretty quiet. To tell the truth I've shot boomys that I didn't like as much as the JJ. $33 on pbgear.com and you have a really accurate barrel, plus $47 extra. That $47 can be spent on, lemme hear it now... that's right, paint and entry!

i like the dye ultralite and dye boomstick...they both 2 piece so u can change length and tip color...and they r both dye's...i have a 14" dye ultralite and a 14" lapco bigshot...the bigshot sux compared 2 the ultralite...and the boomstick is better...but more expensive...like $50 more than the ultralite

bigshot-$55

ultralite-$80

boomstick-$130

the 32* quiot riot is way more accurate than the lapco. i have tested both and kept the 32* because it was awesome. it is a really good barrel. get the 12" one though. it is a very accurate barrel and alot quieter than the lapco or the j&j. 32* has a bad rep but that will stop when people relize how great this barrel is.

I like the Dye's or similar as you can buy different backs; something worth considering is not buying it with C98 threads and get an adapter so you can use it with a non-tippy in the future if need be.
