Well i saw this post in the tippmann regulars forum and it found it intersting. Since most of us cant post their i figure i make one for the regular people, here is the link to it http://tippmann.com/players/forum/wwf77a/forum_posts.asp?TID=111615&PN=1 - http://tippmann.com/players/forum/wwf77a/forum_posts.asp?TID =111615&PN=1
Now i want to discuss this because i find it intersting. Ok I guess im lucky compared to most people because my field owner served 1 tour in vietnam and 1 tour in the gulf war. He lives off honor i guess you could say. Has hired great refs who do their job, who also love the sport. He doesnt try and rip u off either on the paint. Everything is fair prices because remember they have to make money to. So what is it like at your field. Is cheating rampant, its not that bad at my field. Its happens rarely and the refs will throw you off that game and you cant play for the next 3 gamse if they see you do anything cheating wise. I guess having that whole thing if your caught written on in big letters on a sign right as you enter helps stop it somewhat. So what are the conditons are your field.

Cheating happens at every field to some extent. If you play with the same people long enough, you'll eventually figure out who wipes.
When I play against such people I don't take any chances, if I can, I'll paint them like a fence.

Cheating happens sometimes , but it gets spotted Promptly , and Harrassed thoroughly , repeat wipers are subject to insurance shots , til they stand up and yell out so all can hear !!

the only cheating i've seen when i was at a field was at a tournament i
played in... and even then the refs are there to call the players
out if they see a hit and they did a great job.

One time i was behind a wooden bunker in a good position on a far side
of the field, a guy on the other team ran to a bunker closer to us , i
was really close to him too, he didnt notice me, and i an angle to
shoot him even if he got to the bunker he wanted. I got him twice
while he was running. so then once he got to his bunker he ducked and
didnt get out, so i let him have it and hit him about 9 times while he
thought he was "safe" crouched behind his bunker.
I've noticed alot of cheating in woodsball. Not only is cheating more popular, ive had 500 paintballs stolen from me once.

When I play with my friends, everyone is bound to cheat so if I shoot them and I know theyre hit and they dont call it out, I wait until the round is over and walk behind them and shoot them in the back of the leg from like....... 5 ft away Ive made one of my friends cry. It was hilarious.

The last time I saw someone cheat in a woodsball game was at a field here in Northern California (damn San Francisco Hornets), 1 guy from home field team was hit several times from a group people I was playin wit, they called him out several times and refused to leave and "the ref didnt do crap!!!", so all my friends (all 10 of them) obliged by lightin him up and especially my friend who had an A5 wit the RT, he lit him up like there was no tomorrow, after awhile from all the complaints bout the 1 guy, finally the ref kicked him off he field, by that time I was already hit, putting my barrel plug and walkin off the field....jus a side note: if anyone knows anyone from the San Francisco Hornets, theyre a bunch of cheatin mutha......, infact Im goin back to the same field next month Oct.24, if I see them cheat again....Imma light them all up.

my general rule is if you get hit and stop shooting... i'll stop shooting you... but keep you in my sights till you are definitely out (put your gun up, yell surrender, plug up)... the more paint on someone the harder it is to wipe it off...
i don't know if its a generally accepted rule but when we play woodsball if i sneak up behind you and tap you with the barrel you're out (barrel tagging?)... but i have had dudes try and turn their gun on me... i guess its cheating, but its also pretty stupid... i'll usually give them few shots in the thigh rather than their neck or face...
i'm out there for the fun of it, not to be a total .

Umm, If cheating was part of the game, the rules list would say "cheating is ok". Personally I'd shoot 'im till he yells "out", (which, with a wiper, can be 10+ shots) and then tell a ref after getting a good look at his goggles/clothes/face if possible.
However, the idea of giving them a royal pain in the anywhere (I don't care where they get hit, so long as it hurts) sounds rather tempting. I'd still tell a ref, but not before I use my easily-adjustable RVA to give him a few goin' 350 fps. (My RVA uses three nuts on a single hollow bolt incorporated into my car stock. It's pretty easy to adjust by hand, even in the field. I'd just leave the rear end screw where it is to tell me what to set it back to,take the front end screw all the way forward, and set the middle screw, the one that adjusts fps, as far forward as it will go too, light him up, and put both the front and middle back up against the rear, and no one will be the wiser. One person might be the "smarter" .)

cheating is a part of life, as it would also be a part of any
game. therefore you have to deal with it. you cant outlaw
it completely. if possible, the rule would be so strict poeple
wouldnt bother comming to play.

Me personaly i will go terminator on people who wipe. Meaning i will just walk out with guns a blazing untill i run out of paint or i get realy close. its great most of the time people are too suprised to actualy shoot back and i get away unscathed. then if the ref still dosent call him ill light the ref himself up. i have ben thrown out of a few games for this but i allways go to the owner and get sent right back in. also if a team mate wipes ill light him up from 5 ft away (after turning my velosity doun of corse ) and send them out. i have a zero tolarance pollocy on cheeting.

You practically can't cheat at my field and the prices are cheaper then most for 20 bucks you get in all day and all day air. Then 40 for white box paintballs which is 2000 and is very good paint. My field is nice but I have 2 so whatever. The other one is on the naval base its about the same description as the other one. But the one inside the naval base NO ONE STEALS. Because theifs just go to the cheap fields.

i know this, but im stating that they would have to impliment more
strict rules which could possibly ruin play for everyone.
although i personally dont mind cheating, yes it gets to me but as i
said its life. just light them up a couple more times before you
walk off the field. there is nothing at all you can do to
completely outlaw it, unless pink paint was aloud back in. seeing
as pink paint stains more.

So, you dont like cheating, yet you cheat? wierd.
In case you dont think you cheat, i'll explain.
First, you are overshooting. If he hasnt taken any actions to wipe, or hasnt checked himself or had a ref check him, then he isnt cheating, and you are overshooting. overshooting is a no no.
Second, you are able to adjust your velocity on the field without any tools. That too, is a no no, and not allowed.
And.....cheating is part of the game, even if it isnt part of the rules. Is running part of the game? yep, but do the rules say "running is okay"?
Finally, 350 FPS can do saom rather bad damage to anyone recieving a few shots. It can cause nervdamger, break a few, smaller bones, can cause serious interal bleeding, or some bad external bleeding with a whole helluva lot of pain. So i hope you feel smart.

For those that say cheating is part of the game\part of life let's get
one thing straight; it's part of your game/life cause maybe you cheat,
just because it happens doesn't make it part of the game, and luckily
it's usually only a small percentage of people that cheat, they just
tend to make the most noise. I remember seeing someones signature here
that said something like, 'don't hate the wiper, hate the ref that
didn't catch him'....uhm ya ok. I've only played for a couple of years
now, and I've seen it once, the person that wouldn't call himself made
such an ass of himself trying to pretend he wasn't hit that we all had
a good laugh and went back to what we came for, having fun. As
for shooting someone from 5' feet away or 'lighting someone up', well
you deserve to have your gun(s) taken away until you grow a
brain.

i dont know where to begin with this. okay, go to an icehockey
game, which you are watching in the stands, watch an illegal check,
then come back to me and say it was your fault because you were
cheating. I BELIEVE that is someone cheats and its utterly
obvious, they deserve to get it back. what goes around comes
around.

then what kind of tournament are you playing in? Why would they cheat in a rec game where the out come doesnt matter, but not in a tourny where they pay much more money and much more is on the line?

I used to play extremely legit when I first started in tourny, said I would never cheat.
Tell ya.. that changed really quick. Started playing with 303, CO Shooters, etc and found out real fast that being a good cheater is essential in higher level play. As much as you want to disagree with it, or say that not everyone that plays tournys cheats thats fine. Not everyone does, but 95% of players that travel, play AM or high Nov locally WILL cheat. It really is part of the game, its a skill to cheat. You practice it. You use it. Deal with it.
Get better then you wont have to worry about it

^^^Gatyr^^^ Ok. I can see this. Firstly, I wouldn't shoot until he's yellow all over unless it's obvious that he's hit (2 or 3 splats in easy to see spots on his chest or a splat on his mask lens) and he still hasn't walked off and suddenly all the slpats dissapear. Secondly, It never occured to me that the refs won't allow a hand-adjustable RVA, though now that you mention it, it makes sense. I could probably take a wrench and tighten it enough that I can't adjust it with my hands. Cheating part of the game? Then why do the good refs (the ones who see things and act on what they see, not the ones that are afraid of the wiper with his big, bad paintgun) throw people out? Finally, at what range? 50 ft or 5 ft? I'm actually not sure my gun can physically shoot that fast. What I'm trying to say is, if someone tells me it's cheating, I'll do everything I can to avoid it myself and to keep it off the fields. I was just being sarcastic above anyway.

I don't know why people cheat in rec ball and really I could care less. It obviously matters to those people. If it didn't matter to them they wouldn't cheat. For anyone to think that people don't TRY to cheat is dumb and naive, people probably do to try it but they never get away with it at the tourneys I play in. I guess because they know they aren't going to get away with it is the reason people don't try to cheat at the tourneys.
