never get a barrel longer than 14" for anything.

All barrels after 12' inches are pretty much the same in accuracy.  The only thing you shold get something longer for is poking through brush.

Keep the barrel short the longer the barrel the harder to bring it to bear on a target in thick brush.

Depends on how you play. 14 inch Bigshot works great for me, but it can get in the way in certain situations. Mainly when moving through thick brush and snapshooting. You said you were looking for most accurate, so go with the 14 inch.

I like the 8" A-5 Bigshot, but anything over 14" is too long.

Anything after 16" will start to decrease performance. However, a 16" will not shoot much better than a 12 or 14". It will allow you to lean it up against bunkers/trees and to poke it through brush. A 12" barrel is worthless when trying to do this. If you move around a lot get the 12". If not, try a 14 and 16" and see which is more comfortable to you.

I highly recommend a 12" or 14" and no longer. A 16" barrel will most likely just annoy you and cause you to bump it into things. A 12" barrel will be just as accurate as a 14" so just pick the length you prefer. My friend has the 8" bigshot and he loves it. According to him (I haven't used it myself yet) it's just as accurate as the 12" which he also has. I don't know if that is true for other small barrels though so I will only suggest that one. I think you should go with a 12" though. It seems to me that 12" is the perfect length for my style of play since I tend to do a lot of moving around. You say you don't move much which is alright but in time that can (and probably will) change. Should that happen, you might find yourself looking to make your gun more compact and a huge barrel will quickly start to bug you. Since the added length has no real performance benefits, it makes more sense to get a 12" or 14" so that you don't need to worry about changing your barrel if you change your play style a little. It's your call though, you know yourself better than I do.

Actually the first paintball game was played without any shots being fired. After that no one really used sniper tactics since you had to get pretty close with the pump/bolt-action pistols being used.
If you don't move around a lot but you think you may want to shift playing styles, a 14" would be perfect. There's nothing wrong with defensive playing, but remember that sometimes you will need to move to acquire a target. Sitting in one spot will almost never work.

Well, i like the 14'' barrels because they can be super accurate.  The con with those is you might bump it into trees or something.  I have played woodsball with my 14'' progressive rifled barrel.  I have not ever bumped it into a tree.  The barell still looks out-of-the-box new.  It looks new because ive coated it with a thin film of rain-x, baby oil, and wd-40.  This makes a very thin film that will protect against some abrasions.  My advice is:  get a 14''.

or what you could do instead of watching everyone argue which is better, if you have the money get both and use them for different situations. so when on the field if you feel you need a longer barrel then pull out a 16 or 14 inch barrel. thats if you feel like sniping that round. but if you feel like goin commando on people's a***s then pull out a 12 inch. thats what i used to do before i got the bt-16 barrel to go with my m-16 setup. and trust me it was useful to have a 12 and a 14 inch barrel. but i feel anything under 12 just isn't worthy. 12 is best for up close and personal and 14 and 16 is best for set back people. i hoped that helped ya.
