sorry, but i really don't agree with this. there's no reason for tippmann to put out so much effort over something that doesn't make them any money. if we keep harassing them about it, they're just as likely to remove it altogether.

I guess they'll all have to come to chat then
I expect one of several results.
- Jason will fix everything
- we will get ignored
- Jason will fix just the IP banning and IP ban me (partial success)
- Tippmann will totally remove the forum, and lose support.

how long did you give jason? it is entirely possible that he has a life beyond the forum, and a job, and hasn't been able to get to the forum for...who knows how long, I don't, it's been a while. But seriously. Maybe it's pretty serious and he hasn't been able to commit enough time to getting it done? It's always something man, I'm just saying...trying to solve it this way probably won't get anything done.

ummm, Kiolia, his job is as Tippmann's IT. Its been broken for months,
ever since he upgraded to this version. I also gave him a week, and he
totally ignored all previous e-mails we sent him. We had a post similar
to this one a week ago, but they were all to Jason. I also asked to be
polite to him in THAT post.
Eventually this forum will just sink down and then there won't be any
mods. Then Tippmann will just forget about it and it will become a
garbage heap. Right now as it stands, this forum makes PBnation look
good. Which is why I'm spending more and more time there and in chat.

This is exactly what i said in the first thread. FOr all we know, its his part time job, or maybe he is actually trying to fix it, but is unsuccessful. I would rant more, but its early.

OK people, Do realize, It is Jason's job as tippmanns IT to manage the
site and make sure everything is working properly, which for over two
months now, it has'nt...
And I dont care if it is his part time job, the star system is a simple
code, Could take him under an hour to fix it, The software is
easy enough to update, and the IP ban, might be a bit more complicated
but still... I mean honestly.
I agree completly with The Guy, Jasons getting paid to do this, he should make sure he deos it properly.

I told you before, bothering other people at tippmann about this will just piss people off.
I wouldnt do it if i were you.
Ive come to the conclusion that tippmann flat out doesnt care about the
forum. Its understandable from a purely money-making business
standpoint, its something on their site that sucks massive amounts of
bandwith for no gain. Although that depends on how you look at things,
such as the amount of respect AGD gets for automags.org, and the fact
that tom kaye actually has some connection to his customers on it.
Oh well.

I dont care for the Star System. The only thing I want back is the

Well if Tippmann dosent care about the site than thats their problem, Jason SHOULD fix problems, at pb-addict Jason (admin) has to fix stuff and he does ti as quickly as posible and he gets paid nothing at all, it's his forum. Problems on a huge site like this should be fixed as a giant mess could be created if things get out of control.

It always amuses me when people venture quasi-considered opinions on a subject for which they don't have 10% of the facts.
The forum operates as it has operated for some time, only better. Six years ago, we had no moderation, only a web host that didn't give a crap.
Tippmann stepped up.
We ended up with a new forum, hosted and administered by Tippmann and a select few of the "core members" who'd been around awhile. But the admin functions were hokey and didn't work right. So what happened with that?
Tippmann stepped up.
They shelled out the cash to improve a forum that does not directly affect their profits. And, yes, it's still not a perfect solution. Both Jason and Justin have other things to do with their time and trust us, the moderators, to do the best with what we've got.
Whine if you want, but I think we do just fine around here, broken star system and all. Fact is, if you know the history, Tippmann's done a lot for us, the forum, over the years. If you can reach deep down into your personalities and find some patience, perhaps you'll still be here when they step up again.
Peace out.

Well , I think what people are trying to say Sandman , and others ,,, is it would be nice to have this forum function as it should , as it was/is supposed to .
Being Tippmann customers , we have come to expect and demand straight up and no excuses performance from Tippmann products , including this site . To many ,including myself , it is a disappointment to see Tippmann's Site in such a condition , when their product (other than this site ) has such a reputation for reliability and functioning correctly . Many here are frustrated because they have seen how well the site functions, when it works properly (I assume this , It's been broke since I joined, at least ).
The moderators , and for the most part members are dedicated to making this site all that it can be , but there are some vital tools taken away from the Moderators , that undeniably would make this site even better .
Yes , it functions now ,much like a Volkswagon at the Indy 500 , but there's no punch to it like there should be .
We dont want More Stepping up , how about fixing what we already have ??
Maybe Tippmann hasnt realized this is a secondary referral source for tippmann purchases , and if the site doesnt work right , what is a newcomer here ,that is investigating tippmann as a marker gonna think ? Especially if that newcomer hangs around and see's the mods cant even git Rid of tha Troublesome posters here , much less promote the helpful ones ?

the forum isn't that bad guys. who cares if the star machine is broken, i can see how mods would care, demoting and stuff but seriously guys. but on the other and, i can see a lot of money going to tippmann if the fixed it up a bit. and instead of hiding the forum under players and such, there should be a direct link on the home page. think how many people go on the tippmann site looking for info and completely miss the whole FORUM. well i guess ive taken both sides.......but i mean, just be happy their is a forum. what would some of you guys do with out it???

Peace out. |
Preach on brother!

Personaly, I think everyone needs to quit crying about it. There is only so much one person can do. I will agree though that the IP problem is a MUST FIX. I personally can't stand the amount of spamming and harsh newb flamming going on. It's sickining. I'm affraid half of the time to even go into the new player forum with how much crap is going in there. It's a shame that people on here just can't act civil, and feel the need to be jackasses. Half of the people on here would never act like they do here like they would do if there were at school or in public.
People just need to realize that most people some here looking for help, and not everyone is exactly the brightest person in the world. So what if someone is new and accidently doesn't look at EVERY SINGLE sticky. Do they need to be flammed for asking a question they don't know the answer to? So what I'm saying is, people just need to act mature and should try to be helpful to new people. I'm sure the helpful answers most people could give would be greatly appreciated by anyone looking for assistance.
I think I have said enough and I hope people will listen to what I've had to say and will agree.

Yes, the forum has been going down hill.
Anyone who says the forum isn't a money making thing for tippmann sucks at life.
Back in the day, when KRL was plat, we pursaded so many people to buy tippmanns. We fixed so many problems that would have been sent to tippmann wasteing their tech people's time and money. People wouldn't send their gun's in because of loose valve bolts etc. They wouldn't buy other guns because we told them we could help if they ever had problems.
The forum is worse then it ever has been.

So what happened then?
Well people that didn;t want to follow rules or thought they were
exempt from said rules, ran KRL out on a rail. Then they left anyway.
