Since you're using cheap paint, it won't break on contact as much, especially when it gets the extra range from the flatline and hits someone, it will just bounce off, you're better off getting the Big Shot, but if you decide to spend more on paint, then go with the Flatline.

nicely said, no matter what people say, the flatline dose loose the power to break the balls from long range.

I'm gonna havta say Flatline because I think woods is the purpose of the flatline.  I own 1 and its great for woods, but speedball, thats a different story.

to me, the flatline is for ppl who dont wanna go close enough to shoot the opponents with a regular barrel. i used to have a flatline and didnt like it because it wasnt too accurate at long ranges. i would just get the bigshot

well how new are you to paintball? i'd say if you are still semi-new i'd get a lapco bigshot. but if you are more experienced, get a flatline. also some anti-flatline people would say that you should instead learn to be more tactical and learn to get to your opponent closer and take them out. also it dpeends on your current budget. if you ge tthe lapco, you cans ave money on other upgrades, unless you already ahve a steady setup. in the end, it is all on personal reference

well bigshot is more accurate but it doesnt shoot as far of course, a flatline is accurate but at those ranges it is under the influence of the wind (less accurate) more but at a close range its just as accurate as a bigshot, but it might not be if that cheap paint is big bore, or just plain s h i t y piant

Well, I've been playing for six years and I use a Dye Utralight on my A-5 with a really good paint match (Marballizer) and I'm able to almost compete in distance with the Flatline. Of course, I'm using some crazy sharpshooting skills or something. I lob the paintballs with some crazy accuracy, and I've even used the wind to drop balls where I want them. The barrel means little- just match the paint really nicely to the barrel you choose, and you can send the fear of Tippmann into the hearts of little kids. Even a few "pros."

i have a bigshot and am very pleased with it    for all of the bad reports i have heard about teh flatline i would not say it is worth the money      i would definately suggest the bigshot    if you want some specs of my suggested  bigshot  they are    14 inch   bead blasted   there you go.

Get a 12 inch Bigshot just straight, no bead blast.  Any longer than 12 inches is more of of a waste of space than a barrel that can strike fear into the enemies eyes.  Bead blasting isn't really useful, although if you want to spend the few extra bling to get it that's cool.  Flatlines can have some problems while game play.  Breaking balls seem to be the top of the list.  If the tube on the flatline is inserted wrong it'll shread balls right off.  And really important, if you have an automatic upgrade in yourgun, such as an R/T or E-bolt, those balls will lose all accuracy.  Bigshots are more fun, because you can not only attack from a far but also have the same accuracy up close.  In woodsball (which is my favorite too) it's more important to move up and hold a position and flank than it is to hide and pick people off.  The sniper can always be sniped.

Lapco Bigshot. I love mine, It is extreamly accurate and alot less expensive than a flatline, although my brother has made some amazing shots with his flatline. but the bigshot is more consistant from what Ive sene, plus if you ever switch over to speedball you wont have to get a new barrel.

i use the flatline in speedball as a FRONTMAN! i have used various barrels such as the bigshot and j&j ceramic, dye boomstick, dye ultralite, most of the 32* barrels, and i hate them. for all you people that say the flatline sucks in speedball have probably had never played with a flatline on a real speedball course. oh for woodsball, the flatline is #1, no doubt about it. my brother with the bigshot would just lob shots at me so the roll right past me and i would watch the paint going outta my flatline and it was SO AWESOME when i saw one going right for his mask and then seeing the spray! oh i also was playing another game of woods, and my dad was about 40yds away and all i could c was his head so i shot ONCE and nailed him right in the neck and i use core paint too. i say get the flatline, and you wont b dissappointed.

i'd say get the flatline. as you would guess, yes i have one. its great! the extra distance doesnt mean you have to be afraid to charge and take them out. its just a luxary and advantage you give yourself. plus, its just as deadly up close as any other barrel. only thing is get some draxxus paint or anything like that or better.

well i have a flat line and i must say. KICK ASS. i play wood/
forest ball. and when some one is far away, with a regular (not
curved) barrel, you have to aim up. and when your sorrounded
by trees, and you aim up, guess what your probably going to
hit, branches. so with a falt line its you aim for him, if your pont
of direction is clear. and you will hit him
