Today, I did the coolest thing I've ever done.
I was playing a varsity golf match at our home course, and I was doing horribly. I was 9 over par through 6 holes, so I was well on my way to shooting a 44 or higher for nine holes (our goal is to shoot 40 or less).
So I get up on the tee-box of a 250 yard par-4 that's playing like it's 270-280 yards because of the wind and the fact that it's uphill.
I hit my driver, and it was a good shot. My partner yelled "GET IN THE HOLE!" and the ball apparently heard him... It landed on the front edge of the green, and rolled up, hit the flagstick, and dropped in the hole.
A hole in one on a par-4 is basically unheard of. There's like 1 every 10 years on the PGA Tour... So for me, a 16 year old highschool golfer to make one, that's just incredible.
After that, I made a 40 foot putt on the next hole for birdie, and made a 15 footer for birdie on the last hole to finish with the best 39 ever; 5 under par for the last 3 holes.
For any non-golfers, that may not sound like much... But for those who golf, you'll probably understand.

39 for nine holes... (4 over par)
The team lost by three strokes, which sucked... But I did my part, and made an awesome comeback to keep us in the game.
If I hadn't done that, we would have been crushed completely... But at least it came down to the last group to determine who won.

my brother and i both made hole's in one on the same hole same day and everything, it was crazy, we where playing with the golf pro that works there, he gives us free golf carts when we come by. sounds like your team needs work, you also, i think its all just luck, i could never do what i did again, i dont think you could either (dont mean to down on ya) keep up the gr8 work.

I won't deny there was some luck involved... There's going to be some luck factor in any hole in one... But you don't hit the ball onto a spot the size of a living room 250 yards into the wind without there being some skill involved... And the next two holes were not luck. Those were just well-played holes.
I'm also not saying I don't need work... Even the best golfers in the world work on their games.
One additional fact... Last week I was playing a somewhat poor round of golf, and got to the same hole... I drove the green, and two-putted for birdie. Then I made a birdie on the final hole to shoot a 38. Our team won that match.
Golf is about 80% mental, 15% physical, and 5% luck.

The only thing I got out of that is that you got a hole in 1 on a hard course thing. Good job!

Wow...
I'm apparently somewhat of a celebrity at school already... I had about 40 people talk directly to me about how "That's awesome," and I heard lots of people talking amongst themselves about it...
Today was quite... interesting.

I don't have a picture of it, but I can describe it for you.
There aren't any bunkers or actual hazards, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's easy.
The fairway dips down immediately after the teebox, and then takes a steep turn back uphill. The green is fairly elevated above the teebox, so that adds some distance.
There are some big pine trees to the immediate right of the green, and a pretty significant dropoff past those.
The left side is where the real trouble is (especially since I tend to hook the ball). If you miss left, you get to come back up an enormous slope (probably adds at least 2-3 clubs distance to the shot), and it's virtually impossible to hold the ball on the green from down there. There are also big trees left and long, so that's completely dead. The pin was on the far back-left section of the green.
The green is sloped significantly from back to front, so long is dead too.
With the wind, the back pin location, and the slope, the hole was probably playing about 280, even though the yardage says 243 on the card. That's not a long par-4, but it's cool having a risk/reward hole like that.
I hit a perfect drive: high, and with a slight draw . It landed about a yard in front of the green, rolled up and dropped.
I'll try to get a picture of the hole next time I play there. Maybe I'll get a picture of me hitting a shot there too or something.

Holy crap.
That deserves a lot more than a "good job."!!!!!
That is truely amazing if you are telling the truth. Just, wow.
Wow.
I play golf a bit, and I'm okay, but if I make it even anywhere near the green on a par 4, I'm like opening up the champagne bottles and videotaping it.

I'm telling the truth.
In fact... I'm going to see if I can scan in a picture of the scorecard and upload it.
*Edit: Stupid scanner won't work...

Congrats on the ace. I know how you feel about sinking it. I had just arrived at a new duty station in Bermuda (now closed). I saw they were having a tourney over Labor day and decided to sign up. I didn't even have my own clubs. I rented a set of clubs. We were the third foursome off the front nine. The hole in question was the third hole. Par 3 with an elevated tee. I was the first to hit. I hit it, saw that it was headed for the green (btw, this hole had a closest to the pin contest), turned around and the other three guys were jumping up and down saying "it went in", of course I didn't believe them so they hit. We went to the green, they found their shots, I walked to the cup and there it was. My prize was a brand new putter for having "0 inches, hole in one". My team ended up winning that tourney by one stroke.
Again contrats.

ive gotten 1 hole in one before, but on a par 3, it was around 135 yards, and i hit it about 137, and it had enough backspin and rolled back right in.
